Here's BrayDee hard at work mixing a new song for the upcoming TZBD EP. Say THAT three times fast!
Do you like "Runaway" by Bon Jovi?
Do you like "Runaway" by Del Shannon?
You want both? At the same time?? WITH A KAZOO SOLO??
You're welcome, world.
BrayDee and I recorded this Red Hot Chili Peppers tune a few days ago and I think it might be my fave recording of us. Not only because we didn't mess up the tune (yea!) but because the banter really captures our relationship and how much fun we have as a duo.
Pay special attention to how I introduce BrayDee's name in the second verse!!
Enjoy!
It really is, you know ...
We're so excited to be able to share this with you today! This is a song called "Everything." It's a love song Tina Zee wrote recently for her Sweet Baby Cakes.
According to TZ, "I started this song by playing with food-related lyrics. I actually named it "The Food Love Song" in my computer. As I was tinkering on it, I decided to ask my marvelously talented friend Alexis Hillyard of Stump Kitchen for foodie ideas I might use. But instead, she offered up some other lyric suggestions, and they were just poetic and lovely, so I used them.
That morphed the song from a food love song, to a song about, well, everything.
I had the verses written but struggled with the chorus. I had three versions of the chorus but none of them seemed quite right. That's when BrayDee took the ball and ran with it, giving the chorus a new chord structure and melody and it was exactly what the song needed!
At that point we decided to collaborate on this video, and come to find out, Alexis has the voice of an angel! It's utterly gorgeous! And so she is singing lead, BrayDee is singing harmony and playing guitar, and I'm strumming my uke and just loving "Everything" about my talented friends!
