Jackie James Howell, age 71, of Pittsburg, Texas was born November 16, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Jesse James Howell and Juanice Lineberger Howell and passed away on June 26, 2021 at a UT Health Hospital in Tyler, Texas.

Mr. Howell was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Pittsburg, was an electrician for 44 years and owned and operated H&H Electric.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Marshall Howell of Pittsburg; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Jake Proffitt of Pittsburg; son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Kari Howell of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Dakota Durfee, Kaden Proffitt, Kenley Proffitt, and Drake Proffitt Tristan Howell, Cameron Howell, Aschton Howell, Slayton Howell; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Susan Howell of Pittsburg; sister, Patty Lowe of Mineola; and His Pop, Wayne Hadderton of Pittsburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse James Howell and Juanice Lineberger Howell Hadderton and his grandparents. John and Ethel Lineberger, who took an important role in helping to raise Jackie at an early age.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Erman Smith Funeral Home. Brother Randy Stracener will officiate the service and pallbearers will be Dakota Durfee, Jake Proffitt, Wayne Marshall, Dennis Harrell, Jeff Howell, and Bryan Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Groce, Johnny Webster, Johnny Parker, Jewel Ray Ivory, W.A. Cummings, and Raymond Jordan

Ms. Ann Shrum age 98, of Pittsburg, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 in Pittsburg. She was born February 12, 1923 to Jefferson and Annie Curley Parker in Camp County.

Ms. Shrum was a Homemaker and a member of The Church of the Nazarene in Pittsburg.

She is survived by her son, Larry Shrum and wife Mary; daughter, Carolyn Baker and husband Howard; grandchildren, Tammi Shrum, Tracie Huskey and husband Don, Jamie Davis and husband Murphy, and Elizabeth Sampson and husband Billy; five great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Shrum; daughter Marilyn Shrum; grandson, John Mark Baker; great-granddaughter, TaShayla Baker; and twelve brothers and sisters.

Graveside Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg, with Bro. Kevin Harris and Bro. Don Sides officiating. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to The Church of the Nazarene 350 CR 2110 Pittsburg, Texas 75686.

Obituary
Mr. David William Ferguson, age 87, of Pittsburg, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 in Pittsburg. He was born September 14, 1933 to Robert and Emily Dillard Ferguson in Pittsburg.

Mr. Ferguson served in United States Air Force for 10 years, where he was a Military Fireman. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myrna Watson Ferguson of Pittsburg; his son, Jon Mark Ferguson and wife Pamela of Pittsburg; two grandchildren, Whitney Ferguson Green and husband Blake of Diana, TX, and Clayton Ferguson and wife Betty of Converse, TX; great-grandchildren, Easton and Colton Green, and Caleb Ferguson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert Dillard Ferguson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg with Bro. Kyle Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Pittsburg Fire Department. There will be a visitation held from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. Tuesday June 1, 2021 at the funeral home.

Doloria (Dan) Bradshaw, age 81, of Pittsburg passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 with her husband of 62 years, George Bradshaw by her side. Doloria was born May 9, 1940 to James Hulon and Vivian Louise Hearon Johnson in Ponchatoula, LA. She served Camp County as District Clerk for 27 years.

A faithful servant to the Lord, Doloria was a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught children’s Sunday school classes, Children’s Church and Vacation Bible Schools. She was a member of the choir and played the piano.

She is survived by her husband, George E. Bradshaw; daughters and son in law, Verlinda and David Shelton, Deanel and Larry Patton, and Melissa and Joel Townsend; grandchildren, Shannon Edwards, Jacob Shelton, Stefani Shelton, Ryan Patton, Emily Patton; great-grandchildren, Kayla Henry, Renee Henry, Robert Hill, Ashlynn Henson, Lexi Henson, Kris Lyn Shelton, Branson Shelton, great-great-grandchildren, Eli Jimenez, Sivan Encino, Bella Sears; and a step-brother, Thomas Fayard..

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kathleen Dillon; step-mom, Ruth Johnson, and a granddaughter, Shelbi Lyn Willey.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburg, with Bro. David Kizer officiating, interment to follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg. Pallbearers will be David Shelton, Joel Townsend, Larry Patton, Ryan Patton, Caleb Kizer, Jacob Shelton, and honorary pallbearers, Christian Ifuku, and Ezequiel Jimenez. There will be a visitation held from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Willie Carol Clay (1947-2021)
Funeral services for longtime Camp County resident, Ms. Willie Carol Clay, 73, will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Pine Bluff First Baptist Church, 406 Fulton St., in Pittsburg where Rev. Eddie A. Ballard is pastor. Ms. Clay was a member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.M. Brooks. Rev. Byron Shaffner will serve as eulogist for the service. Interment will follow at Traylor Cemetery in Pittsburg. Visitation will be held Friday, April 29 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home located at 216 Fred St. in Pittsburg.
Ms. Clay was born August 26,1947 to the late Willie Clay Jr., and Faye Nora Traylor Clay. She united with the Spring Hill Baptist Church at an early age where she held numerous positions and remained a faithful member. She graduated from Fredrick Douglass High School as part of the Class of 1965. She retired from Pilgrim’s Pride after 25 years. She died April 22, 2021.
In the community, she served in various organizations including the Camp County Chapter of the NAACP, Fredrick Douglass Alumni Association, Habitat for Humanity and the Camp County Texas Democratic Party.
She leaves to cherish her memories three sisters: Claudette Hamilton of Tucson, Arizona; Rochelle Hill (Thomas) of Pittsburg; and Paulette Shaffner of Dallas as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Faye Lanell Roberts, uncles and aunts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in her honor to the Frederick Douglass Alumni Association (FDAA), P.O. Box 324, Pittsburg, TX. 75686.
