I am opening again for some commissions and repair work. I recently have had some emergency veterinary bills that have hit me hard. My one and a half year old cat, Mr. Kevin Flynn the Dude Lebowski, was diagnosed with acute/Chronic Kidney Disease this weekend. I don't know how much longer he will be with me, but his medical bills are accumulating very quickly and I need to find some additional funds to help pay for his care.

EDIT: Mr. Kevin Flynn the Dude Lebowski passed away while I was holding him today 02/26/2024. He was the bestest , sweetest, baby boy kitty I was ever bestowed. 1 year and 8 months was not long enough for him to be with me.

This was a commission I took on for a client at the start of Covid-19 lockdown. The material was a discontinued print from Joann Fabrics, the heart lace was also from Joann fabrics. The Ribbon bows and roses were purchased pre-made, sewn together, then attached painstakingly to the lace by hand. The pattern was drafted from instructions in an "Otome no Sewing" magazine. Fully lined with shirred elastic panel in the back.

So much hand basting and pinning. So many pins! I chose thia cerulean blue swim knit to make my first attempt at this swimsuit pattern. Looking good so far. More photos to come!

Adjusting a pattern for sizing and cut again. I couldn't find a bathing suit in a sttle i liked that was in my size. Between medications and quarentine my clothing sizes have gone up, then down again and just plain all over the place. Anyhow working on this and a few other things, that do to quarentine and my forced relocation, have been horribly delayed for some clients.

Pattern alterations/resizing is my least favorite thing about sewing because it is so time consuming. But unfortunately I have to do it with almost every pattern that I use for myself. Every body is different, and I am very curvy and tall. Most commercial patterns aren't designed for people with my kind of build. But hey, it's a learning experience! (Glass half full).

Once again, apologies to all of you about my inactivity the past few months. I was dealing with my most recent move and helping with renovations for family members. The most recent development is that my very senior kitty ( her name is Victor and she is about 16 years old ) developed diabetes and was only diagnosed 2 weeks ago. So I have been making adjustments for her daily care. She had lost 2.5 pounds in less than 6 months. The good news is she is on insulin now and enjoying the extra food she gets now. I am still working on getting a functional project area established in the house which has required me to make modifications to existing furniture and aquiring more furniture for storage and organization. I am slowly getting there. Again. Thanks for your patience ♡

Sorry to not have been actively engage with ya'll. I have been spending the past few months with family and not at my apartment. Long story short: my property managers are terrible and allowed for a filthy tenant to remain in th building and it caused a cockroach infestation that bleeded over into my very clean, not bug infested apartment, and then refused to properly take care of the issue for months. Because of this I am in the process of moving, again. I'll let ya'll know once I am moved and back to full capacity again.
