Just another life update.

My dad passed away on Wednesday July 3rd. He had went back into the hospital with his kidneys failing and his body was just wore out. He was surrounded by all of his family and lots of love.

Things will look a little different for us as we learn to navigate life without the heart of the family with us. I plan to take some time to help ease my mom into this new phase of life as she has to be without my dad for the first time in 53 years. Please keep my family in your prayers as it will be a big adjustment for all of us.

I’ve been a little quiet on this page lately so I thought I would catch up with y’all and give you a little glimpse into my personal life. I’m not using this post to push my beliefs on anyone. Attached is a picture from f me with my dad from my niece’s wedding in May ❤️

Back in May my dad was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver (non alcoholic). He has had a few hospital stays, many test and he goes weekly to get paracentesis to drain fluid of his abdomen. He received a call a few weeks ago that it was time to start talking about a transplant. This call was completely unexpected at the time, we thought with his MELD score we would be at least a year out from a transplant. We were told that this is a long process and we couldn’t even start anything until insurance approval. He called me last Wednesday saying he needed to go to the hospital (his 3rd trip in just over a month). My brother was closer to his location so he got him to the ER and my mom and I met them. He was admitted because his kidney function was borderline failure. He has been at UNMC since last week and we got a call this morning that the evaluation would start. He will have to go through a series of test and then the teams will meet on Wednesday to go over everything to determine if he will be a good candidate for transplant. There are so many things that have to be done before he is even on the list. I come to all my friends asking for prayers, good thoughts, or whatever it is you believe. We as a family believe in and know a powerful God! There is a reason that this is progressing so fast and we trust in him.

Introducing Mr. William "Liam" Raymond Collins! I had the very special honor of doing his big sister's newborn pictures and then I got to help with the pregnancy announcement for his upcoming arrival. I patiently waited for mom and dad to adjust to life with 2 little ones and as soon as mom messaged that they were ready for pictures I was at there house 2 days later! I love the comfort and ease of doing in home, it helped mom and dad with not having to get the kids out, we went at his pace without feeling a time restriction, and big sister was much happier being in her space. I love this little family and I am so excited to watch as they settle into life as a family of 4!

I had the honor of doing Mom's maternity pictures and then newborn pictures so when mom messaged me to snap some pics to celebrate Mr. Barrett coming home from the hospital after a scary stay I was more than happy to help! After a quick feed Barrett was a trooper and even gave me a few smiles. Just look at those cheeks 😍

Who's ready for another Happy Paws pup?
This sweet guy is Zorro. He is the brother to Izzy. Zorro is a 9 month old Terrier Mix. He is current on all shots and neutered. He is a smart guy, knowing fetch, sit, touch, wait and down. He comes when you whistle at him or call his name. He's housebroken and kennel trained although he does bark for a few minutes after going in. Zorro is very hyper and loves to play! He does get excited playing fetch and has nipped but never broken skin. He's a big cuddle bug but hates being left alone.

Zorro was an owner surrender from Texas. He was underweight and has a couple scars. He basically grew up in a kennel. When he arrived he would stand over Izzy in the kennel to protect her 🥹. His foster said that he has started barking at strangers walking past the house and other dogs as a territorial thing. He has never attempted to get out and chase them.

I know that's a lot of info but let's do this and find Zorro his forever home!

Saturday I had the honor of capturing Beau's baptism. This little guy was the most happy baby I have ever been around. He smiled the entire time right up until the end. It was a private ceremony with family and friends present to show support. Thank you for allowing me to be present for this special occasion.

Another Happy Paws Plattsmouth puppers!
This is Izzy, a 7 month old Shepard Mix. She weighs around 45 pounds. Not much is known about her background, what is known is that she came from a Kill Shelter in Texas. She loves her belly rubbed and playing ball and stick. This girl is a great cuddler (look at those eyes 🥰) She is great with other dogs, not sure of how she is with cats or kids. This sweet girl was a bit skittish when we first met up but was very aware of her surroundings and warmed up to me quickly.

My weekend was full of puppies and babies and I can't decide which one I loved the most! This handsome little guy is Felix, my husband's cousin's grandson. He's got beautiful blue eyes, reddish tint to his hair, the most perfect chubby cheeks and a Cowboys fan (dare I say the perfect package 😉)! Mr. Felix was a champ for his session from all the outfit changes to getting him set up in his pedal car.

This year I have teamed up with Happy Paws Plattsmouth to help get some beautiful animals adopted! If you would like to help but can't foster or adopt then you should check out their page to see if there is any other way that you can help. Each animal that I post is available for adoption. With that being said let me introduce you to Pac-man! He is a 9 month old Chihuahua that was found in Texas as a stray. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He weighs 6 pounds and is working on crate and potty training.

Let's help this little guy find his forever home! Ways you can help are giving this post some love, sharing my post and getting the word out about Pacman and the wonderful organization that is helping him.

With the new year I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself again. Hello, I'm April, the owner of April Earith Photography! I am married to the most wonderful, supportive man for 26 years and counting. We have 2 beautiful daughters, Brianna and Reecie, that both have wonderful spouses, Michael and Hadyn. Brianna and Michael, our oldest, has given us 2 beautiful granddaughters Marley and Mavis, 2 grand cats and a grand bearded dragon. Reecie and Hadyn have given us 2 of the goofiest grand dogs Maverick and Murphy. And the light of our lives, our golden child is our boy Charlie aka Charles Barksalot, our 14 year old Maltipoo. I grew up in the Deep South, on the coast in Mississippi. We moved to Nebraska when I was 15. I was a preschool teacher for 10 years and when I retired from that I picked up a camera to take pictures for fun and I haven't put it down since. When I'm not behind the camera I can be found on the back of the Harley touring this beautiful country with my husband and friends, spending time with our grandkids, baking bread or reading a book. I have enjoyed all the wonderful families I have met over the years and I'm looking forward to continuing on this upcoming year!

This kid is a beast on the court. From his BJSA days all the way to a Senior in high school, he always gives 110%. He will continue with that passion into college this fall. To say I'm proud would be an understatement. He is a good kid with a great big heart, always so respectful (he says yes ma'am/no ma'am to me), loves his family, and he's a great house/dog sitter! Looking forward to seeing him tackle the world with his go-getter attitude!

My last senior for this year, my cousin Duane. Duane is the last kid for my uncle. His dad is my uncle, but he grew up like a brother to me, so Duane is more like a nephew. His dad is just a few years older than me and was basically raised with me. All of my childhood memories have his dad in them. I am so excited to see what Duane does with his future! He plans to go into a trade, and I know he will be successful.

I would like to introduce my 2nd family. This is my husband's parents, brother and his family. The last time we had family pictures done was over 20 years ago! We have added to the family with all the kids having spouses and then the 2 great grandkids (my granddaughters) I can't recommend enough how important getting those family pictures done. This is something that will be a memory for years to come.
