To the right wing and all GOP in particular:
I hear far more about the they/them and gender pronouns and trans issues from the right side than any of my progressive liberal friends.
Our side literally almost never discusses any of the pronoun and trans stuff. It's simply just an accepted practice. When I meet someone I don't ask what's in their pants and I don't demand they prove it. I also don't ask what name they were born with. They introduce themselves as "name" and we use that name when referring to them. Gender, pronouns, trans and any of that only come up if we get to know each other better. The only times (excluding pride month of course) we see any of this in the news is when the right wing is going nutso about it.
I prefer real life instead of living in make believe, fear mongering universes like you guys.
LGBTQ+ is teaching kids to hate their bodies? The mainstream media and advertising has been doing that for decades. We are simply allowing people to be more comfortable with who they perceive themselves to be then driving them to self hate, cutting, and su***de like the right, churches and ignorant parents do all the time.
Seriously if we meet a person who's birth name is Robert and he would rather be called Bob, Bert or even Barbara then that's what we refer to them as. It's really as simple as that. Ultra minimal respect for a fellow human. The barest you can do. It's much harder and hateful to do the opposite and takes much more time and energy.
Living with zealously believing the .05% or lower people who thrive on your guys fantasies and crazy obsessions to make money and be in the limelight to feed your bigotry and hatred just shows your true colors and proves just how much you guys look for something to hate and try to control. It was mostly women, then hippies, then the g**s and trans and always POC. There's always a group or two the right is obsessed with controlling when simply ignoring them or just treating them with the barest of respect or dignity would solve the problem completely.
The groomers and abusers are by a really wide margin is the church, things like child beauty pagents, groups like boy/girl scouts and honestly GOP members since you guys simply ignore their issues and sweep them under the rug. The problem is easily a couple of thousand times more with those groups yet the right obsession lays with the minority groups, the weird and those you've been conditioned to hate.
Do you really ever sit back and look at yourself and wonder why you murderously hate these groups and what's wrong with you? Or are you just glad to have an outlet for hate, bigotry, low simmering violence and barely unspoken murderous wishes?
