A successful dinner party last night with kind, fun clients! Filet mignon with a demi, mashed potatoes and green beans. We also served grouper with a Dijon crust for our fish folks. Fresh and simple is always a winner.

A few years ago I was scammed on a fake job. Thankfully I wasn't scammed out of money but was almost held accountable for over $20k! Every year they try again so now I want to share with everyone so these scum bags fail.

The scam is as follows:

They contact you via phone or email of your business about a large party, either 30-50 guests (an 80th bday party or surprise bday party for wife is what I've been told. They even used the 80th birthday 2 years in a row🙄). They tell you what they want the menu to be and it's almost always mashed potatoes, salad, chicken or beef. They say they need you to supply all paper goods, cutlery etc. They then say they won't be around because of some kind of work issue. They'll ask for a quote and will want to give you a down payment.

Then it gets real sketchy, they'll say another "vendor" can't receive payment from him for some reason and will ask YOU to pay them through zelle or other cash app. He'll send you the money and an email of whom to send it to. They are having people launder money for them. They will even send you a legit address of where the supposed party will take place.

Be cautious out there, these people do this at this time of year every fu***ng year. F**k them and I hope they burn in hell.
