📢 JUST ANNOUNCED 📢
State Theatre presents The Dead South
August 13 at Thompson's Point
🎟 Tickets on-sale Friday at 10am

After selling out the State Theatre far in advance last year, The Dead South are back to make their debut outdoors on the Fore River at Thompson's Point!

The Dead South have never been about constant reinvention, but about full commitment to their own singular way. With confidence in their sound and style and trust in each other, The Dead South arrive at the cusp of explosive global success in an enviable, and well-earned, position: total autonomy. It doesn’t really matter what you call their music – progressive bluegrass, alternative Americana, country, folk and western, what matters is that this is theirs, and people from all different backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, languages and ages love it.

True blue right through, The Dead South don’t shy away from ruffling traditionalists’ feathers from time to time, as they flawlessly execute banjo rolls and lightning-fast mandolin tremolos, 3-part harmonies and songs of classic themes -murder ballads, disloyalty, ghosts and the like, all with a wink and a smile. As they continue their climb to the top, The Dead South have learned an important lesson: If you’re going to be outsiders, you’d better be great.

Confirmed by the passion of their Dead South cosplaying fans, who go to concerts in the band’s signature look, this four-piece acoustic set from the middle of the Canadian prairies have found their people. Good Company, as they call themselves, is a global community of vastly dissimilar folks who might not see eye to eye, but who stand shoulder to shoulder at the gigs.

State Theatre presents DISPATCH
w/ John Butler (with band), G. Love & Special Sauce, Donavon Frankenreiter
July 3 at Thompson's Point
🎟 Tickets on-sale Friday 2/7 at 10am

DISPATCH and summer are synonymous, and the celebrated folk-rock band is looking forward to a return to the road on their just-announced Summer Tour 2025 alongside John Butler (with band), G. Love & Special Sauce, and Donavon Frankenreiter.

The band just released their new single, “Yellow Jacket,” a sentimental track about frontman Chadwick Stokes’ upbringing on the farm – and all of the antics he and his brothers would get into. “We would roller skate all around the farm,” said Stokes. “One time my brother Benny was snooping around the sheep shed in mom’s skates and rolled right into a nest of yellow jackets. Since he was in skates that were 7 sizes too big, he couldn’t get away.” The reflective lyrics are coupled with a sound that harkens back to early DISPATCH with an infectious blend of reggae and roots rock.

Of the tour Brad Corrigan adds, “We are STOKED to hit the road this summer with our bud John Butler and his band, and to have G. Love & Special Sauce and Donavon Frankenreiter on the tour too!! Going to be an epic lineup every night, and we can’t wait for all the energy and good vibes...”

📢 JUST ANNOUNCED 📢
State Theatre presents Wallows w/ Porches
Friday, June 6 at Thompson's Point
🎟 Tickets on-sale Friday 1/17 at 10am

Wallows (composed of Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston) returned in 2024 with their highly anticipated third studio album, Model, which saw them reunite with GRAMMY Award-winning producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Sharon Van Etten). Recorded at Los Angeles’ legendary Sunset Sound, the album was met by critical applause from the likes of CLASH, proclaiming Model “a no-skips record,” ROLLING STONE heralding it as their “arena-ready third album,” and DORK who stated the album is “a stunning, natural evolution into their next chapter… guaranteed to reward on each and every listen.” Model includes the band’s biggest streaming debut for a single to date and their first song to hit the Top 40 chart in “Calling After Me,” as well as the singles “Your Apartment,” “You (Show Me Where My Days Went),“ “Bad Dream,” and “A Warning.”

In March 2022, the band released their sophomore album, Tell Me That It’s Over, produced by 3x GRAMMY Award-winner Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Haim, Adele). TMTIO saw Wallows continuing on their ever-evolving journey of sonic exploration, fusing a vast array of musical ideas – from lo-fi post-punk and indie-folk to early ‘90s dance-pop psychedelia – into their own one-of-a-kind creative vision. TMTIO marked the full-length follow-up to Wallows’ hugely popular 2019 debut album, Nothing Happens, also produced by John Congleton. The album, which includes the 3x Platinum single “Are You Bored Yet? (feat. Clairo),” proved to be one of that year’s highest streamed debuts and has since gone on to be certified Gold in the United States. As ambitious and successful on stage as in the studio, Wallows are currently traveling the world on The Model Tour with shows at such iconic venues as Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Kia Forum, Alexandra Palace, Zénith, Hordern Pavilion, and more throughout 2024. Wallows will continue bringing their live show around the globe in 2025 as part of The Model & More Tour.
