The Mercantile Event Center

The Mercantile Event Center is a 5,000 square foot ballroom with gorgeous historic charm. The event center can host events of up to 300 guests. Making it one of the larger event centers in the Cooper County and surrounding areas. Recently renovated with modern air conditioning and heating units makes it the perfect venue for events no mater what time of year it is. The building, including the restrooms, are ADA accessible making it easier for all to attend and enjoy a wedding, family reunion, business, or other event. The event center even has a caterer’s kitchen that includes a refrigerator, freezer, sink, microwave, commercial warmer, and ice maker. Lots of little extra things are also included that make the Mercantile Event Center an amazing place to host your next event.

This magnificent historic building was remodeled and renovated by the building’s owner Betty Kenney, her dream was to turn this beautiful 100-year-old building into a place where people could enjoy being together with some elegance and character. The Mercantile Event Center is something she worked very hard to see accomplished and the Open House in November 2019 was beautiful. But because of health and family issues that came up the day of the open house she was not able to take reservations. Betty decided to lease the Mercantile Event Center to two passionate young women who had big dreams of their own amazing event center and to see Betty’s dreams of this beautiful old building come to life.

Allee Shrum and Kala Kelly took the reins of the Mercantile Event Center in May 2020. Allee and Kala have amazing eye for details and a true passion for events. They want the Mercantile Event Center to be a marvelous addition to the beautiful historic downtown Boonville and to become one of the leading elegant event centers in Mid-Missouri. Keep your eye out for all the big things to come from this talented duo at the new Mercantile Event Center.
