Jill Swanson- Hullinger, owner and DJ, got involved with music at a very young age. She performed on the drums in her family’s band beginning at the age of 8. When her brothers got older and moved away, Jill subbed for other bands and kept busy in band at school. She also started singing and playing the guitar. Then in ‘88, Jill and her husband, Chuck, and her dad, Don, and brother-in-law, Jeff, formed Clear Creek Band and performed regularly at venues all across north central Illinois. We played classic and new country and 50’s and 60’s rock N roll.

Later, we decided to put Jill upfront so we got a drummer and new guitarist. Jill played the rhythm guitar, the fiddle and mandolin. Chuck played bass guitar. It was a big change, but she loved being out front of the band and the band became even more popular. Then later we started Rambler Creek Band. Jill went back on the drums. We had a new lead singer and lead guitarist. Rambler Creek Band did very well and was together for ten years. The next band had a new bass player and lead guitarist. It was called Backbone Road. We played for two years. During that time, Jill’s husband Chuck succumbed to brain cancer. At that point, Jill decided to discontinue live music. In all, Jill played in bands for 30 years.

The following year, Jill started Hit Clips Karaoke and DJ Service. This was good because she didn’t have to work so hard, but she was still doing music. She loved it and still does! Now Jill has been doing karaoke and DJing for 10 years. She can’t wait to see what the future holds!
