If anyone is interested in putting together an original act focused on songwriting and creativity.

I'd love to put together a three or four-piece band mainly focused on producing good music, with more originals than covers, with a sound that plays to each musician's strengths. The songs wouldn't be publicly released before being finished, professionally recorded products, and gigs wouldn't be booked hastily for the cash, but booked for the right fit, and treated like big events. If any of my friends know of people who would be on board with that kind of creative journey, let me know. 💜

We want to inform everyone that we are no longer involved in handling bookings at the Blue Cactus Room. Additionally, we have not been hosting their open mic events since June. We feel it is important to clarify this information for those who may not be aware.

The Blue Cactus Room has been a great space for live music and we are so glad that we got to help bring live events to the community at a time when live events hadn't been fully revived yet. When we were hired by BCR to host open mics at the beginning of 2022, there were no other regular weekly open mic nights in the area and before the end, we had built up a musical family of regulars that were so talented and diverse. We miss seeing them! We wish the venue owners future success and thank them for letting us be a part of this great venue space.

We are now focusing the business on special events and marketing creatives (you'll see us out here performing too) but please consider supporting the last two shows we booked. The Ragetones in August and the Delta Sonics Blues Band in September. Both are sure to be a fun time! ☺️

I am happy to say that after a couple of weeks in Ecuador learning and doing volunteer work, I have returned and am getting back into the swing of things with MSM today. It was such a memorable and worthwhile experience! This picture of our group was taken at the UN in Quito.

With Pueblo, CO known as the “Melting Pot of the West”, the cultural diversity is a huge part of it’s history. In the earliest years of Pueblo’s growth, many different countries had families who came to find a permanent home and stable employment. These various ethnicities laid the foundation for the city we know today.

The Hispanic heritage is rich in the community, with traditions, events and hometown staples the locals love. One of these favorites is the El Nopal Restaurant. The food created was inspired by home-made meals from the countryside of Mexico. Opened in 1955, the delicious recipes made by Rosa “Ma” Torres were enjoyed so much, they expanded to a full-service dining room. El Nopal continues to use the same techniques and ingredients that have been in the Torres family for decades.

You can enjoy any (or many) of "Ma's" traditional dishes for take-out Tuesday through Saturday or during dine-in from 5-7 on Thursday AND Saturday this week!!

The story behind the band:

"1000 Shadows is an all original rock band that's roots are right here in Pueblo.
Lead singer Jim Miller and lead guitarist Ed Dennis began creating the songs a decade ago while working together in metal fabrication and taking lunch breaks to write the music from the tailgate of a truck. All the while Jim and rhythm guitarist Shawn Harrison now 30 year friends have been playing music together and writing songs that give additional variety to the style of these tunes. Shortly after these beginnings Drummer Brett Pavlik and Jim continued the tradition of working together in the steel industry, building wind towers and talking music. Brett began to add percussion to these tracks, elevating the music to new heights. An ad was placed seeking a bass guitarist and what immersed was the talent and skill of Jeremiah Edwards. Bringing groove and flair, this really was the last piece that completes
the musical experience. From all of us in the Shadows thnx for supporting your local music."
