KAMAKHYA RECORDS ANNOUNCES NEW POLICY: NO SPOTIFY UPLOADS FOR MUSIC RELEASED ON THE LABEL STARTING JANUARY 2025: Kamakhya Records has always upheld a policy of unwavering support for creative freedom of its artists and their music released on the label. We have never interfered with their artistic expression, allowing them to explore and communicate their vision without restriction. This commitment to creative autonomy is at the heart of what we do as a label.

However, starting January 2025, we will be implementing ONE CONDITION: ARTISTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO UPLOAD THEIR MUSIC RELEASED THROUGH KAMAKHYA RECORDS TO SPOTIFY. This is not an invitation for a debate. It’s a conclusion. Full stop. End of story. No more room for negotiation. We will stand by it as we continue to prioritise our identity as an underground label.

We are not in a rush. We have built an audience that values the label for what it truly represents, allowing it to grow authentically, without compromise. This community is genuinely invested in Kamakhya Records’ journey and growth, and the label is not interested in reaching listeners who consume music like fast food, reducing it to background noise and mere metrics. We are happy with the small, organically growing community that understands and cherishes the depth and meaning in our music.

This condition applies to all artists and their releases on Kamakhya Records starting January 2025.
