Construction is coming along well, we are actually ahead of schedule! We are grateful for our partners Zuya Sica Consulting, LLC , Design, and Construction for all their work in bringing this project to the finish line. We could have done this without you.

We look forward to welcoming community to the Grand Opening on September 29, 2024. As we near the end of construction we are transitioning to a nonprofit organization that will manage and maintain the site as well as provide programming. More to come!

▪️The Rapid City Council removed a contingency allowing He Sapa Otipi to access $9 million in Vision Funds through a reimbursement process for the construction of the building.

▪️We are beginning our selection process to seek experienced Indigenous A&E firms to assist in the design.

We are excited to announce our first Agritourism Event on Cheyenne River. I persuaded my brother, Dugan Bad Warrior, CEO of Zuya Sica Ranch, to join the Agritourism World!

Join us for a unique all-day experience. We provide breakfast, lunch, and a pasture walk by the beautiful Moreau River. Watch as our Lakota cowboys and cowgirls continue the tradition of wrangling the cattle for branding on the beautiful prairie.

Come be a part of the history and vision of Zuya Sica Ranch at our annual Cattle Branding on Friday, June 21st and 28th, located on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.

Our vision for Zuya Sica Ranch is to create a philosophy of principal practices that will be successful for future generations. We use managed grazing to maintain a healthy ecosystem based on the five principles of soil health and integrate the Seven Lakota Values into our operations.

What a great gathering of community. It was wonderful to see this come together for the Sičháŋǧu Community!! 🌿

Thank you Siċaŋġu Co & Makoce Agriculture Development for a great collaboration to share the amazing Food Sovereignty work happening on the Sicangu Reservation. 🦬

Earlier this month in collaboration with Makoce Agriculture Development, we hosted the 1st annual Sicangu Food Summit. Matte Wilson, Sicangu Food Sovereignty Initiative Director, shared, "I am happy that we've had our first gathering on Rosebud to share about the food sovereignty efforts that are happening on Sicangu Makoce. This work is so urgent and important, now more than ever. I am hopeful that we will continue to come together in a good way to continue this work, to share knowledge, and to build momentum."

A special shoutout to Dew Bad Warrior with Zuya Sica Consulting, LLC for all her work with the planning and organizing this event!
