Due to the cost of cleaning and maintenance of clothing, Black Hills Santa and/or Mrs. Claus or St Nicholas will not perform in venues where to***co smoke is present. If Santa and/or Mrs. Claus or St Nicholas arrive at an event in which smoke is present, the venue host will incur a cost of $100 for the cleaning of Entertainer(s) clothing. Host is responsible for adequate child supervision, secure entry/departure/parking, and items marked as “provided by host” on Services page of this website. Black Hills Santa and/or Mrs. Claus or St Nicholas will arrive approximately 5 minutes before event (home)/15 minutes (business) to meet with host(ess), unless previously arranged. If individual gifts are to be handed out by Santa and/or Mrs. Claus, there should be a gift for each child at the event, clearly labelled. Santa does not provide a photographer and all photos taken of Santa and/or Mrs. Claus, whether by individuals or professional photographers, are for private or personal use of the client/s and their guests only and may not be used for commercial or promotional use without the express permission of Black Hills Santa. Any person or business who uses photos of Black Hills Santa and/or Mrs. Claus to promote an event must have gained approval of Black Hills Santa and promotional advertisements must list "Black Hills Santa" and/or "Mrs. Claus" as the performer somewhere within event promotion if the generic name "Santa" is used to promote event. If host(ess) uses Facebook and/or Instagram or any other media to promote event "Black Hills Santa" must be tagged in promotion i.e. (). Should any activities at the event venue create a volatile or harmful situation that may endanger the safety and well-being of Santa and/or Mrs. Claus or St Nicholas or be of a nature unbecoming or negative to traditional Christmas/Holiday activities or if there is any presence of illegal substances or activities, Black Hills Santa and/or Mrs. Claus or St Nicholas have full rights to immediately terminate appearance and leave the venue. Further, the client will still be liable for the full value of the contract. The host(ess) will not allow any other adult to dress as Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Mrs. Claus, or any other Christmas character that could be viewed by guests and/or the general public as representing Black Hills Santa and/or Mrs. Claus while Black Hills Santa and/or Mrs. Claus is at event. If other adults are dressed as these aforementioned characters while Black Hills Santa and/or Mrs. Claus is at event it will be treated as a breech of contract and Black Hills Santa and/or Mrs. Claus will be free to leave event immediately and host(ess) will be liable for the full value of the contract. We're not trying to be jerks. We must ensure our likenesses are used tastefully and are protecting our reputations. Some have tried to use our likeness to promote their products or their political campaigns and that is not right. Also, all of our outfits are handmade and it takes a lot of work to take care of them throughout the year. We are proud Christians who don't bend our morals and we must ensure our likenesses are used tastefully. We hope you understand.

Just a personal note... None of you will ever know how much it meant to me this year to have Mrs Claus with me. My best friend got a bad break back in September. For a little while, I thought cancer might keep us from being able to be together at some of our events.

But, God helped us out. He allowed my best friend, my confidant, my wife to overcome that dreaded disease, and be able to spend the Christmas Season healthy and happy.

This Christmas, hold your loved ones just a little closer to you. Let them know a couple of extra times how much you love them and how much they mean to you. Take it from me... You just never know what can happen.

I ask everyone to please work with me when scheduling. About the earliest I can get to a weekday event is 6:00 p.m. because of my day job and my availability on weekdays is very limited.

Black Hills Santa & Mrs. Claus

For over 20 years Black Hills Santa has portrayed Santa for families, youth organizations, businesses, schools, community libraries, and U.S. Army units. When he was three years old, Black Hills Santa’s parents took him and his new brother to Santa Claus, IN to “Santa Claus Land”, now “Holiday World”. That visit began a passion for Black Hills Santa for all things Christmas and Santa Claus.

In his regular job Santa, a U.S. Army Veteran, assists Disabled Veterans with employment. When he’s not at his workshop he spends time with his family and has served as a Girl Scout volunteer and a volunteer firefighter. He holds an Associates of Santa Claus from the Int'l University of Santa Claus and four graduate degrees from Liberty University, Regent University, and Anna Maria College.

Mrs. Claus is the glue that holds everything together and Santa could never be a success without her hard work and support. Mrs. Claus is a Girl Scout leader and is always helping others, like assisting at the Piedmont Library or setting up angel trees in December, all while raising three kids and managing the home. For military families, Mrs. C knows the hard work spouses perform when a spouse is away, especially at Christmas. Mrs. C has a BS in Education from the University of Southern Indiana. Santa and Mrs. C’s experience in working with children greatly benefits when they visit with families.

So, what sets Black Hills Santa and Mrs. C apart from others? Well, for one, they portray Santa and Mrs. Claus in the authentic, classic Golden-Age style you remember from your childhood. Secondly, Santa and Mrs. C wear custom clothes with leather belts, boots, and gloves; gold buttons, trim, and buckles that bring that classic style to life. Third, as parents Mr. and Mrs. C know what other parents expect and they give 150% to you. Fourth, Santa and Mrs. C have a vast knowledge of the Santa Claus legend, St. Nicholas, and Christmas traditions to bring the magic of Christmas to life for you and yours. Lastly, the Clauses are insured and background-checked (locally and federally) and can present these documents at any time, so you have peace of mind.
