What is the Educational & Community Theater Project?
The Educational and Community Theater project has been planned for phase 3 of Redding School of the Arts Master Plan. It will be a part of the new Redding School of the Arts High School Campus and available to the community as a cost effective solution for local children’s productions and education.

It will be a space where children and families benefit.
The community theater will have adjustable seating to accommodate large or small performances and backstage infrastructure that will ensure children's safety while learning aspects of stage production.

Why is a Children’s Educational Theater important?
Child-centered performing arts programs are growing in the North State, and the area is in need of a venue that will support student performing arts in our community.

Existing school performance facilities can not accommodate the demand for performance reservations and are also expensive to reserve for educational programs or small, independent, performing arts businesses such as local dance studios.

Private and civic theaters are inappropriate due to cost, facility size and structure.
The educational and community theater development that the Foundation is supporting will be cost effective, affordable, and accessible, making it a desirable option for local children’s productions for educational and cultural enrichment.

Community Night is open to anyone in the RSA community, alumni, family, staff and friends. The VAPA team alongside the Foundation for Promoting Arts Education (FPAE) would like to invite you for a night of creative clay building with Mrs Plummer. The theme is “ Ceramics in Season”, where you will make your own personalized candle holder.

Afterwards we will fire and glaze your masterpieces and have them ready for pickup before Christmas break. These would make great Christmas gifts or keep as a personal treasure. All proceeds from the registration will go to the TBC which allows the students to have an amazing place to showcase their many talents. The RSA High School ASB alongside Mrs Stoxen will be hosting the movie night (The Grinch). ASB will also provide a snack bar as well for cash donations. So send your kiddos with a few extra bucks and let the creativity begin!
