Olivia + Clements 2 Day Wedding Weekend was exceptional. O + C have become an integral part of my life in the last 8 months and I am so grateful for them. Planning 2 different weddings in two different styles was both a learning for me but an incredible blessing. We met last June for our consultation and saying goodnight last night felt bittersweet! I can’t wait to see all of the remarkable things they do together. I am ecstatic to see their successes as a married couple. As a wedding planner I will tell anyone with ears, a pulse, and newly engaged that choosing a venue is the gateway to a successful wedding planning journey. Why you ask? Because once you have a venue, whether you are planning your own wedding or we are planning together every other design decision will depend on which venue you will ultimately say I do at. Here are 3 things to remember when venue hunting:
1. What items are included with the venue? Most venues have some things that are included such as tables and chairs, linens, or lounges for use. If they have these inclusions you want to confirm if there is an ipcharte or does the venue price include them. 9/10 times they are included with no up charge but it’s great to know up front for your financial comfort.
2. Can you choose your vendors or do they have a preferred vendor list: This is important because if you have already booked a vendor there are approvals that need to be provided in order to use that vendor AND if they have a preferred list do the main vendors that are required meet your expectations.
3. Who will be available the day of the wedding to represent the venue. Although this seems like a small detail it’s an essential one. Your wedding coordinator will be there as expected, however, if an issue arises with the venue who will be available to make sure everything is handled before, during, or after the wedding. A problem free day is preferred but incase there is something that comes up, who can your coordinator work with to resolve the issue.

✨Happy 1 year to Unveiled by Debra✨
I literally can not think of the right words to describe this last year. When I launched Unveiled last year I was scared, nervous, worried, BUT determined. I spent the majority of my life planning events and daydreaming about someday launching a business but nothing prepared me for what doing that has done for my soul. I literally cried last night knowing today was approaching because this last year has been hard but rewarding. I have done some incredible things, met some incredible people, and kept the dream alive for little black girls and boys alive for a little longer.
I want to say thank you to a few people who have helped me along the journey this last year:
1. My family. They were the original team members for Unveiled. My first official wedding was for my older sister, when I needed help with setup, my brother and sister would strap on their shoes and set tables up with a little hesitation but a lot of faith in me. They are the reason for every dream dreamed.
2. All of the couples I have worked with this last year have been my absolute reason. You are quite literally my inspiration to continue learning, growing, and excelling.
3. Behind every business owner is a mentor who is giving advice, offering feedback, listening and pushing you forward. @taylrd_designs you have been a source of both wisdom and guidance and I am so HONORED that I have been able to work with you and to pick your brain constantly.
4. @thematthewshouse @bytamaragibson @glynnischristensenphotography I tell you often but you saying yes to be apart of my first styled shoot gave me peace and confidence. Your insight has been invaluable.
