We were DELIGHTED to have Olivia Exum on Shockoe Sessions Live! and hear about the interesting programs Foxfire Eventing provides.

Foxfire Eventing is a nonprofit that flips the script on traditional equestrian spaces.
Founded by youth and open to all, we’re a hands-on learning program where young people run their own horse farm—caring for and learning from “second-chance” horses who are rescues, retired competitors, or donations looking for a new purpose.
But Foxfire is about more than horsemanship. Our participants gain real-world experience in farm management, leadership, animal care, and teamwork—building confidence, compassion, and career-ready skills along the way. We make this world accessible to kids from all walks of life—no fancy boots, no prior experience required.
Whether someone wants to ride, volunteer, explore a future working with animals, or just find a safe place to grow, Foxfire is a place where both people and horses get second chances—together.

Federal funding, which amounts to about $1.60 per person annually, makes public media possible. The investment directly supports your local stations and enables them to provide you with essential programs and services.

Public media is facing multiple serious threats. The Administration has proposed eliminating federal funding in its annual budget request, issued an Executive Order to block support for PBS and NPR, cancelled grants that support the creation of children's educational programming, and plans to claw back funding approved by Congress.

Tell Congress to reject the rescissions package and stop the dismantling of public media.
