Our very own Carlos Chafin of Shockoe Records and In Your Ear will be speaking at 2pm in the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU auditorium as part of the panel discussions tailored to art lovers and working artists. “Feeding Yourself / Feeding the Algorithm” which will explore different views on how algorithms and AI impact creative labor and how artists can respond and survive.
This festive event will feature: open galleries; representatives from more than two dozen local arts organizations; panel discussions on artist-run spaces and production models; mini-food-hall offerings in the ICA’s Abby Moore Cafe; short recording sessions in the VPM + ICA Community Media Center; screen printing and crafts; music from WRIR 97.3FM Richmond Community Radio DJs and more.
When Full House activities conclude at 4 p.m., visitors are invited to linger for an exhibition opening reception featuring refreshments, a cash bar, and remarks by Brown, VCUarts Dean Carmenita Higginbotham, ICA curators Amber Esseiva and Egbert Vongmalaithong, and guest curator Serubiri Moses.
