We’re proud, excited, thrilled, humbled excited to announce that Shockoe Sessions Live! is celebrating 5 incredible years of bringing community, talent, and unforgettable performances together! 🥳

Over the last 5 years we’ve had the privilege of showcasing the best local musicians, creating a space where our vibrant music scene thrives. From indie bands to jazz trios, acoustic duos to rock ensembles, funk, soul, turkish samba, alien jazz, we’ve experienced the diverse sounds and unique artistry that make our community’s music scene one-of-a-kind.

To celebrate this milestone, we’re throwing a ✨ special anniversary show on June 10th ✨ Details coming soon, you won’t want to miss it!

We have an exciting announcement from our friends at VCU! 🎶 ✨
It's the world-premiere of MANTRA, VOL. 1 -- VCU's first-ever album written, recorded, produced, mixed, mastered, marketed and distributed entirely by VCU students; and executive produced, from ideation to legacy, by the students of the 410 Collective!

From rap to country to soul to indie/folk/rock, MANTRA, VOL 1 is a stunning array of eleven personal, profound, and diverse sonic expressions, created by the VCU students/artists who call RVA home.

Making MANTRA, VOL 1 has been an enormous undertaking/achievement by the students in this term's Masc 410.Media Entrepreneurship class, who have reached out beyond VCU's Robertson School to involve current VCU undergrads, grads, alums, and professors, across disciplines; as well as Richmond press and partnerships. And we’ve invited select tracks from MANTRA, VOL 1 to live on our new streaming service The Sound of Richmond.

We sincerely hope you take a moment to listen to MANTRA, VOL. 1. You'll never hear VCU students the same way, again!
