Mildly desperate post 👏🏻

I am in search of a building for rent or to purchase in Decorah that could be used as a photo studio.

Something with a bright white style or open to upgrades, a large window for natural light, preferably with easy accessibility for all clients and access to a bathroom area.

Unfortunately my previous rental space was resigned in a larger group building lease. I’m hoping to find a space so that I am able to continue to offer sessions during the winter months and beyond.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I would love to gift a sessions of your choice to anyone with information that leads to renting a space that is a great fit!

I have contacted both the owners of the Pop Culture building and the Bargain Outlet in Decorah.

The rain started falling just as Chelsea began her walk down the aisle, just sprinkles at first. As the words “surrounded my friends and family” were spoke the rain came down, and those exact friends and family surrounded Chelsea and Austin under the tree and around their alter.

Surrounded by friends and family, weathering the storm, Chelsea and Austin were married.

This moment yesterday was truly one of the most poetic, incredible moments I have had the honor of capturing.

These two flexed and took every little moment in, being ready to change their whole wedding day around at a moments notice. Tiffany and Chandler, I just know you’ll be able to weather any storm together, adapting to the circumstances and loving the journey, you showed that perfectly on your big day!

My heart hurts ..

It’s the end of an era

After dancing in the light of this space capturing
brand new littles, growing families, the glow of mamas, new and old love. I have officially shot my last session in the space I’ve called home to my passion within downtown Decorah.

On a random afternoon in mid May after a knock on the studio door about a showing of my space, I found that my studio was listed for lease online. It has been listed as a joined listing with the building next door. Today I finally heard the words I was dreading, I will no longer be located downtown Decorah.

In the coming week you might see as the studio is slowly cleared. I am NOT going out of business or quitting this incredible passion of mine!

It’s a for now kind of bump in the road.

For now I’m taking all the pretty things home.
For now I’m taking a bit less sessions to love on our Primm girl as she’s tiny.
For now I will chase the golden glow with you, but just for now I’ll meet you outdoors.

Thank you for meeting me downtown for the last few years, I’ll miss this kind of glow!

Yesterday was one of those full circle moments in my photography career. Wills parents were my Highschool science and art teachers. His mom; my art teacher was the first person to introduce me to photography. In her class I created my first photography logo and started taking sessions during the end of my high school years. From capturing items in “the wild” that looked like letters to create words with the images, all the way to where we are today!

Dear 109 E Water street, The memories here have been racing through my mind from the second I thought I might be loosing you. It feels like just yesterday I was looking in all the windows of an empty storefront dreaming of its possibilities and searching high and low for the contact to lease this space. Since then I have captured so much life within these walls. Mamas telling their husbands that they will soon be a dad, new littles only just days old, the morning of my best friends wedding, countless growing families. I filled my days dreaming of our little one within these walls. I captured photos of the tiny bump of our first baby we lost within these walls & our maternity photos awaiting baby Primm just months ago here too. I’ll forever be grateful for this place, more than words can express. It’s not just a building Thank you for the memories I can’t wait to see what’s next
