Wilkommen to the A&SV Smoky Valley Limited! We’re proud to feature great German food, complete with German beer on a two-hour train trip through farmland originally settled by German immigrants who migrated to the Kansas territory in the 1850s. On Saturday, July 27, the Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad presents a taste of German culture, as the Smoky Valley Limited hosts Chef Manfred LaGrange of Schatzi’s Schnitzel Haus in Riley. Enjoy your choice of schnitzel (breaded pork chop) or German beef goulash, with homemade spatzle (noodles), rotkraut (red cabbage), and for dessert, luscious black forest cake. Iced tea and water accompany the meal. And for an extra charge, Schatzi’s has German beer! The train leaves our 1887 Rock Island Depot at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy a taste of Germany as the Abilene & Smoky Valley Limited glides through the river valley for a two-hour dining adventure on the rails of Kansas history!
If you want a great weekend outing, come to Abilene and take the train for a taste of Germany!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Wurst Event ever!! we had so much fun with the comedians in the evening and everybody enjoyed the sausages along with the schnitzel! And the salad bar seem to continue to be a hit! We appreciate all of you, schnitzel fans, and look forward to seeing you again soon!!!

Hey Schnitelfans! We will be open to the public this Saturday, July 20th from 12-7 so PREPARE for the WURST! Delicious sausages, schnitzel, sides, salad buffet, Paulaner beer from Munich and cold crisp German Reislings and Bieramisu for dessert! Free Comedy Show-Comedians on their WURST behavior starts at 7 pm for some Summer fun!

We had some super special guests last Saturday! Schatzi’s parents were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary! And their super smiley friend Phil brought his gift certificate from his recent 80th birthday to celebrate with some schnitzel fun! We sure have a lot to celebrate 🎉 and be grateful for! and we are certainly grateful for everybody who came out on Saturday. We appreciate all of our schnitzel fans.🇩🇪🥳🌞🍻 🍺🇩🇪 Hope to see you all on July 20 for our next public event!

This Saturday 6/22 from 11:30-7 we are "uber" excited to serve you fresh salads from chef Manfred's garden a true summer highlight to go with our signature dish of Schnitzel or with a delicious marinated pork steak. We will have pommes (fries) or bread dumplings with your choice of onion or mushroom gravy as sides and a special "Heisse liebe" dessert of vanilla ice cream with a fresh hot raspberry compote! YUM! Of course Bretzels and Paulaner beer and a lovely selection of wines. No reservations necessary and dine in and take out are available. Don't miss out on this Schnitzelfans!
