Hey hungry friends!! Chef Cooking with Sara G. here and I am sitting in San Diego as we speak.
First stop back home last night was to my favorite Mexican food place, Alberto’s. If you’re from San Diego, then you know Alberto’s. Their food is a staple in the area. And I had to start my San Diego trip right with some carne asada fries. Crispy fries, creamy guacamole, flavorful pico de gallo, sour cream, cheese, and some of the best carne asada anywhere. I wanted to make sure I tasted EVERY flavor because THIS is what we want to bring you at Mr.G’s SoCal. I am SO proud to say, we really have perfected our carne asada recipe because it blew my mind how our carne asada meat tastes EXACTLY like theirs. EXACTLY. We did it!! We perfected it. And now I know our flavors are exactly what everyone from San Diego and Southern California are going to love. We get told all the time our food is the closest you’ll get to what we got back home, and now I see why. All the years of perfecting recipes to bring those flavors to Northwest Arkansas and we’ve done it. Just wait until you see what recipes and flavors I will be bringing back with me. 😃

We did it guys!! We placed 3rd overall Best Burger AND we placed 2nd for People’s Choice. And they have asked us to compete again next year. Super proud of my team and everyone who helped us place. Placing at all is a huge honor, especially knowing we were up against some stiff competition.

Today we set a new business record!! We were at a Splash Pad at a park in Springdale for a private event today and in just an hour and a half we sold 60 lemonades and 130 snow cones!! And we completely sold out of everything. We have an amazing Candy Coated Crew who worked hard to keep customers happy and lines moving quickly.

Thank you so much to Inner Circle, Autism Involves Me, and Kid’s Unlimited for having us out today!! And thank you to everyone who booked us for their events from today’s event. We had a lot of new customers who kept coming up to tell us they’ve seen our business all over social media and have been wanting to try us out. We are so glad everyone liked everything and we look forward to working with you all again soon!!

Spring has sprung which means it’s time for us to start warming up the grills again. 😉

Welcome back everyone!! We can’t wait for you all to see what we have coming up this season!! 😃
Tacos, burritos, breakfast, elotes, Tijuana hot dogs, and much much more. Including soups too!! Spring is rainy, who doesn’t like soup on a rainy day? If you’ve never tried our pozole, chicken tortilla soup, or albóndigas soup, you are missing out, but don’t worry, it’s coming, and you won’t have to miss out for too long. We can’t wait to start serving everyone again soon!!

Don’t forget, we cater events, birthdays, quinceañeras, weddings, and more. Message our page to set up your next event.

It’s been awhile!! We have had a lot of exciting things cooking up over here. When we start setting up again, we will have the amazing Chamoy candy and all the different Chamoy pickles from Candy Coated Chaos Co. available at our pop ups.

Another exciting announcement: our co-owner Sara, is almost done with her first cookbook! She will be publishing her book in the next few weeks. That’s part of why it’s been so quiet over here. This will be her first book, but she has more in the works. More details coming soon.

We also plan to do a pop up next weekend, weather permitting. We’re watching weather and considering our menu now. If we do a pop up next weekend, what does everyone want to see?

Breakfast tacos and burritos are hitting the menu. We have a lot of pop ups we’re planning for Spring and Summer, including some farmers markets pop ups. We plan to bring our San Diego/SoCal style to those pop ups. Our first few farmers markets and pop ups will be breakfast items and street tacos. Served with our fresh made pico de gallo, guacamole, and salsas. We will post more info as those pop ups approach.

Pictured: eggs, breakfast sausage, bacon, and cheese tacos.
