DOWNSIZING SOME OF MY RELIGIOUS VINTAGE ITEMS...

Just wanted to put it out there that I am selling some of my long collected religious items. It's my entire Infantof Prague collection, some celluloid items and other random pieces at very fair prices. I don't do shipping--It's local pickup only-- so those of you that are within driving distance of Rockford Illinois or the state line of Illinois and Wisconsin, I live in Roscoe, IL just a few miles from the state line. MY VERY OWN HERO.

Fifty-six years ago my husband, then nineteen years old, boarded a plane for a country he knew nothing about. He left a new wife behind, traveled 8,400 miles away from home and served 13 months in Vietnam enduring situations that we can't even begin to understand...daily loss of life, unbearable heat and humidity, a stench that he can still smell, setting and breaking camp every other day to hide from the enemy, the bombs and air raids, burned villages, the rats and snakes, new friends and profound sadness of lost friends, all while trying to preserve freedom and protect citizens of another country. As he ages, the memories affect him more and more. He doesn't speak of his time there often nor does he talk about his Bronze Star. He's our hero and we're proud of him every day. ⭐

We stand proud of all veterans every day of the year. Thank you Jesse and all veterans who put their life on the line for us. If you see a veteran today on this day of celebration for their selfless acts, be sure to thank them for their service. 🪖

WHO NEEDS TRADER JOE BOUQUETS...
..when you can clip nature from your yard!!

I'm smitten over my fall arrangement. It started when a friend who owns a restaurant was cleaning out their large planters which contained King Tut grass. I then just walked around my yard and clipped cone flower pods, bee balm stems, hickory tree limbs, Annabelle hydrangeas, fern fronds, and a few turkey and pheasant feathers. I simply plopped them all in my vintage wicker vase and voila!

I hope you're enjoying this beautiful fall day. I fear it's one of the last!

I'M LOVING MY BRASS RAIL...

I love the look and feel of copper and brass. Because I have such a small kitchen my countertop space is at a premium. Adding a brass rail was the perfect answer to gaining display space but not taking up physical countertop space. I chose the IKEA rail and 5 hooks for combined price of $12. Swipe to the last photo to see the boring 'before'.

My other bargains? The round bowl was $10 at a church garage sale, the au gratin oval pan is from Portugal and was a mere $12 during my Vintage Shop Hop a few weeks ago, and the small round molds above the oil painting were only $4 each.

A TINY TOUCH A FALL...

I don't typically add a lot of fall decor to my bedroom. But today I pulled out a velvet backed comforter for the foot of the bed and decided to use my leopard print top sheet for a tiny touch of fall color.

I do have a few new items in the bedroom that I've picked up recently. The sweet gold velvet jewelry box on my dressing table is in almost perfect condition... with detailed latch and hinges, braided trim on the inside, a mirror and what I think is probably a spot for hat pins to slide under? The print behind my dress form I just bought during my event last week. Not only did I love the print but the gold filigree corners on the frame made it hard to pass up.
