Remember last week when I told you the only reason the Red Rose is so popular is because we tried to regulate the massive amounts of c❄️ke coming into the US during the “War on Drugs” era?
Well part of the bigger problem is that pesticides, herbicide and other nasty toxins aren’t regulated in any capacity those South American countries. ☠️
You might think…”so what? It’s not like I’m eating them?”
But are you? How many times have you seen adorable celebration cakes decorated with a few blooms. What’s the harm? You’re not eating them right?
Multiple studies have shown that florists regularly in contact with imported flowers can absorb up to 100 different toxins through their hand to hand contact with the blooms. These are serious neurological chemicals that at best cause many florists to have skin reactions so bad they retire from the industry after just a few years. 😵💫
Do you really want to bring that into your home and stuff your face into it? To have your kids stuff their face into it?
If you learn one thing from following me 🙏 please 🙏 let it be that who and where you get your flowers from is just as important as your food!
If you’re wanting to skip the cocktail of poison this Valentine’s Day, ask your local farm about a subscription! We have them available now on the website for all price points. Monthly, weekly, bi-weekly options all available for our Sacramento area loves!

I will always be the first one to admit our flower subscriptions can feel like a big purchase. $600-900 during the holiday season is a lot of money.
An investment in a subscription is more than just flowers though.
It’s an investment in your joy 🩷💐
Its an investment in your community farm 🫶
It’s an investment in a weekly dose of magic.✨
So many of our members tell me how Monday’s become their favorite day of the week. That their kids even get excited to see what new flowers I’ll bring. They love the rotation of colors, shapes and cool plants.
As we get ready to launch our 2024 subscriptions I though I might share a few ways to make the purchase a little easier if your still pondering if it’s worth it.
1. Share the subscription with a friend! Our bouquets routinely last 2 weeks so sharing with a neighbor or friend will half the cost and keep both homes full of joy all season!
2. Talk to me about a payment plan. I’m happy to break the cost of a full season subscription down into more manageable payments.
3. We offer multiple options for different budgets. This year we are bringing back the bi-weekly option! We also have a monthly option and a mini subscription of just 4 weeks.
4. I’m open to trades. This will be a bit at my discretion obviously but if you’re another service provider I’m happy to chat about trading services.
5. Become a drop off host! If you can get 4 friends/neighbors/family members (or more) to each buy the same level subscription I’ll comp the delivery charges from everyone’s
Make sure you’re on our newsletter list to have first access to 2024 💐subscriptions by heading over to our website. We’ll be launching them on the website soon.
Shout out to all the other home based farmers, florists, crafters and dreamers shoving piles of stuff from side to side, cropping out those disorganized garage shelves and waiting for the airplanes to pass for the *perfect* instagram reel. 😅It’s rough out here being a small business and doing ALL the things on your own. Including the song and dance of the ol’ reel bot.If you’re following along through all my glorious mess, thank you 🙏 We’re almost through the last of the scorching summer days and since I can’t hang with this heat past 10am I’m busy prepping some fun dried bunches for the @opfm916 this Saturday!
It’s all fun and games and beautiful petals until an irrigation pipe breaks 😂But really, getting to create my own little park has been an amazing adventure and I’m so grateful for our local #riolinda community support. Without my town I wouldn’t be able to do this. 😘#flowercsa #flowerfarmer #flowersubscription #flowerstand #locallygrownflowers #farmtotable #americangrownflowers #redheadflowerbed #floretalumni #sacramento365 #farmtoforksacramento #visitsacramento #sacramentoflowers #sacramentoflorist #riolindaflowers #antelopeflowers #natomasflowers #northhighlandsflowers #rosevilleflowers

and secure your mama the best TRULEY FARM FRESH local flowers around!
These hungry little hippos of the insect world are always a delight for a gardener to see crawling around. 🐞
But did you know that buying them from your local garden center is actually a very bad idea?
Ladybugs sold in stores are often poached, aka wildlife taken from the wild without permit or permission. They also can carry diseased that aren’t inherent to your landscape and cause more damage than good!
AND it’s not the adults that eat the most, its the babies (nymphs) that have a veracious appetite for aphids. So unless you can somehow convince your little tub of ladybugs to stay put and set up shop in your garden they will likely just fly away and move onto a more attractive location to breed, meaning you just totally wasted that $10.
🐞What’s a better alternative?🐞
👇Attract your local native ladybugs to your garden by doing this instead!👇
🐞Stop spraying pesticides! even Neem oil and other “organic” labeled pesticides don’t differentiate between “helpful” vs “harmful” bugs in your garden. EVERYONE is affected equally when you spray chemicals.
🐞Plant easy to grow Pollen heavy plants like sunflowers! Adult ladybugs feed more on pollen than anything else.
🍂Leave the leaves! 🍂 I know its tempting to blow all those leaves away into the gutter or bag them up but ladybugs use those areas to survive during winter. Consider making a leaf tower out of chicken wire and stacking the leaves in a corner of your yard. The native insects will have a home for the winter and you’ll have a great batch of broken down mulch to use in the spring time!

I’ll make up a few different sizes so there will be price points from $15-30.📍5725 26th street Rio Linda
