The engagement ring has become such an integral part of the proposal that most women agree that it’s hard to feel engaged without one. The engagement ring is a powerful symbol, something to be shown off to all her friends and something she’ll feel proud to wear throughout her life.

When choosing your engagement ring it’s important to have a solid understanding of the 4 C’s that affect diamond appearance and value, the pros and cons of popular ring metals, and the types of settings available for the ring’s center stone. A customer who wanders into a jewelers without a clue is likely to pay too much, or get talked into a diamond that costs more than he wanted. Way to Do a DIY LDS Wedding! The reception took place in their local church building, which they totally transformed with the help of Practically Perfect AZ. The entire thing was covered in white draping and linen with pink and gold uplights, accents, and chandeliers. The couple feasted on Vegan Pizza and Italian food, danced like no one was watching, and headed off to the cheers of family and friends.

Are you an LDS bride or mother of an LDS bride planning the wedding?
I NEED YOUR HELP!
I’m thinking of creating a mini online wedding course that would address such items as:
1) 70 Ways to save money on your LDS wedding
2) How to have professional quality sound for FREE in the cultural hall (using only your iPod)
3) The Top 2 ways to transform any room for almost free.
4) Step-by-step stunning wedding centerpieces that are easy and inexpensive to create
5) And more
Please comment below:
1) Would an online mini LDS wedding course be useful to you?
2) If such a course existed, what would you want included?
3) What are your top frustrations in planning your wedding/reception?
Thank you so much for your time and comments.
Rose

I love this LDS wedding! People say it’s good luck when it rains on your wedding day, and a lovely wedding when the rain came seems so appropriate for April. Alyssa and David embraced the rain and ended up having a beautiful wedding. It probably helps that Alyssa is from Seattle, where it’s illegal to complain about the rain. Oh, and check out those yummy donuts!

The Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom He Hath Sent

Elder Jeffrey R Holland, Apostle of The Christ

Now, to anyone within the sound of my voice who has wondered regarding our Christianity, I bear this witness:

I testify that Jesus Christ is the literal, living Son of our literal, living God. This Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer who, under the guidance of the Father, was the Creator of heaven and earth and all things that in them are. I bear witness that He was born of a virgin mother, that in His lifetime He performed mighty miracles observed by legions of His disciples and by His enemies as well.

I testify that He had power over death because He was divine but that He willingly subjected Himself to death for our sake because, for a period of time, He was also mortal. I declare that in His willing submission to death He took upon Himself the sins of the world, paying an infinite price for every sorrow and sickness, every heartache and unhappiness from Adam to the end of the world. In doing so He conquered both the grave physically and hell spiritually and…Read More/Watch the Video

Do you ever wonder how professionally-done cakes get that flawlessly smooth layer of frosting on top?

Most wedding cakes are coated with fondant or buttercream icing that is rolled out with a rolling pin and draped over the cake to provide a smooth working surface. Rolled fondant or buttercream comes in a variety of colors and can be rolled out to a variety of thicknesses.

Once you have the smooth “base” of your cake – usually fondant or buttercream – it’s ready to be decorated with piped icing. (“Piping” is the term bakers use to describe icing that is squeezed through a cake decorating bag to create shapes and patterns.) Read More

How to Choose Wedding Color

Your wedding will be the most colorful event of your life, so whether you choose monochrome or several colors, ensure your color theme reflects the identity of you and your fiancé. Proper color choice should solidify YOU, the bride, as the center of attention. All elements around you should work with you and not against you. If you select a dominate color that looks great on you and build from there you will be assured that your wedding will make you glow!

All the details from the wedding invitations to the dresses, neckties, vests, shoes and ribbons, and the wedding reception decorations, table linens, wedding flowers, and candles are vehicles for color. The colors chosen for these items should …

Marriage Made in Heaven!
Even though the temple is intricate, the sealing ceremony is not ostentatious. It is a short, simple ceremony with a beauty that LDS couples find hard to put into words. There is no music or processional, no walking down the aisle and no wedding party. The bride and groom wear white, plus the ceremonial clothes used in the endowment. Guests at the sealing wear their best Sunday dress clothes. As discussed, all guests must have LDS temple recommends and the guest list is recommended to be limited to only family and very close friends.
After some words of personal counsel from the temple sealer, the couple kneels across the altar from each other. The words of the ceremony… https://www.weddinglds.com/lds-temple-sealing/

President Russell M. Nelson

Only those who are married in the temple and whose marriage is sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise will continue as spouses after death and receive the highest degree of celestial glory, or exaltation. A temple marriage is also called a celestial marriage. Within the celestial glory are three levels. To obtain the highest, a husband and wife must be sealed for time and all eternity and keep their covenants made in a holy temple.

The noblest yearning of the human heart is for a marriage that can endure beyond death. Fidelity to a temple marriage does that. It allows families to be together forever.

As a groom, you will have a number of personal responsibilities and some that involve others, especially your fiancée. Planning a temple sealing and wedding reception(s) and a honeymoon are all important decisions for both the LDS bride and groom as they are some of your first major decisions together. (Yes, that was receptions, as sometimes the LDS bride’s and LDS groom’s family may come from different part of the Country, or the World).

OUCH! One of those words you don't want to say on your wedding day. Your wedding day ensemble includes a lot more than just your bridal gown. Perhaps the most important (and most understated) aspect of what you’ll be wearing on your wedding day is your shoes. In the past, wedding shoes were usually buried beneath a sweeping floor-length gown, but now a lot of brides are really showcasing their shoes with tea length and ballerina length skirts. If you choose a shorter dress, realize that they will put your wedding shoes front and center on the big day.

Some brides choose formal shoes for the pictures and ceremony, then change into more comfortable white flip-flops, sandals, or ballet flats for the reception. It’s certainly easier…Read More https://www.weddinglds.com/lds-bride/lds-brides-accessories/choosing-wedding-shoes/

I love this Washington DC LDS Temple Wedding from eLovePhotos!

I think it’s dreaming and “magically delicious!” Emily's vision for her wedding was earthy, romantic and intimate. She used natural and green elements incorporated into the decor. Emily's sister made her bouquet! Emily and Cristian enjoyed a first dance on the stone patio, watched a sweet family-made film and exited by bubbles! It was such a perfect day! Seriously? When it’s YOUR turn to toast, will you be tongue-tied, or poised?
Even though the typical wedding speech is only about 3 to 5 minutes long, it needs variety to stay interesting. One great way to do this is to incorporate your favorite relevant quotes, sayings, poems, scriptures, or jokes.
Whether your speech is funny or sentimental, whether you’re the maid of honor, the groom, or the mother of the bride – there’s something for...https://www.weddinglds.com/lds-wedding-toasts/quotes-poems-jokes-and-scriptures-for-wedding-toasts-and-speeches/
