The Closet designs and sells custom fiber creations including hand painted, burnt, and vintage hats as well as body positive costumes created from recycled materials. Mad Hatter’s Closet provides fun and creative fiber and clothing art for members of the community while promoting inclusion, mental health awareness, and the joy of creating.

Coming Soon!!!!----The Mad Hatter’s Closet Classes: During the class community members will learn to create their own custom designed hats using a wood burning, painting, and hat band making. Student will get to pick out their own hat color/style, learn to use new artistic tools and work with recycled materials to add in their own style. Fun for Bachelorette or Birthday Parties, and more.
The Mad Hattress herself, KateLynn Rentz of St. Joseph, Minnesota, has been creating unique and custom costumes, props, and sets for community theaters across the central Minnesota area for over 12 years. My costuming services focus on creating a body positive experience for people with of all body types with an emphasis on a safe space for LGBTQIA2S+ community members. I have grown my costume wardrobe to include over 1,000 individual pieces, including vintage dresses and suits, Halloween and character costumes, shoes, accessories, hats, masks, and more. Over 90% of these costumes are donated or thrifted from the local community. ‘Textile Recycling’ is one of the main focuses of my costuming. As a child, I always had an extraordinary need for a creative outlet in my life and now as an adult I have decided to follow my passion for creating works of art into a formal business.
