We had fun doing the SNDP, but Geno's Mix Tape Party is the next level... Geno's Mix Tape Party is all about reliving the good times back in the day when we made mix tapes on cassette and burned CDs. But it's not just dance music. It's everything we partied to back in the day.

Where would you like to party with us? For our first live Geno's Mix Tape Party, we're looking for a spot that's easy to get to for those in the Tampa area. We're going to keep it to around 50 friends for our first party.

We made the big announcement that Tone Loc, C&C Music Factory and Rob Base are coming to Madeira Beach November 14.

To my Saturday Night Dance Party friends, you've probably been curious. What IS Geno's Mix Tape Party? A radio show? A party you can actually go to? Another podcast Geno gets all excited about and then abandons 2 weeks later? 😆

Geno's Mix Tape Party has been something I've wanted to do for a while now. But when I left the SNDP, finally getting to have an actual weekend instead of working 6 days a week gave me the chance to travel like crazy. Travel and music are my 2 biggest passions. I've racked up an absurd number of frequent flyer miles. And I don't plan to stop.

But while I've traveled nonstop, I've had a void for that passion for music that I got to satisfy when I did the SNDP. I loved playing the old school jams that the station normally didn't play. But that's not the only music genre I love. Our generation was really the first one that loved many types of music. We made mix tapes on cassettes. We burned CDs. It's time to go with this idea I've had.

I got inspired this morning. Kind of excited about it. The idea started before I took over the SNDP at a little dive bar on Gandy when I was on the country station. There were wigs, bandanas and acid wash jeans. Maybe you were there that night. If you know, you know.

This morning, a song fired up my brain with ideas for this Geno's Mix Tape Party concept I've had.
