The collective idea for a community stage on F St was born as a solution to increase foot traffic and liveliness of the 1/2 block F St closure between 2nd and 3rd, and to create stage access to local performers who do not have the opportunity to book other Salida venues during the summer. Now that we have been provided this community gift, let's enact the vision of diverse local artists using this space for performances, busking, announcements, raffles, fundraisers, live painting, featuring artwork, showcasing skills learned from classes, and all the creative ways Salidans can think of! "Magic Steve" Kucera, a Salida Circus and community staple, passed away on May 15th, 2022. He was extremely experienced and passionate about street performance culture, and excited to help pave the vision and manifestation of a community F street stage to bring a street performing aumbieance to the F St closure. We know he would be giddy that it has happened! Rest in peace and love Magic Steve!
