Meet Ricky Parkinson, Vocal Dimension - Opera Works’ bass and big bad wolf! đŸș

Ricky is thrilled to bring his long-sought after villainy to the younger crowd. His eclectic musical endeavors have taken him from a ca****la groups (BYU Vocal Point, 2006 ICCA champions) to opera (Lyrical Opera Theater & Utah Opera Chorus) to early music (9 seasons with Utopia Early Music Ensemble) to musical theater. He has performed at Pioneer Theater Company (Olin Britt in "The Music Man"), Hale Center Theater in both Sandy (Smudge in "Forever Plaid") and Orem (Javert in "Les Miserables"), West Valley Arts (Ichabod in "Sleepy Hollow") and Centerpoint Legacy Theater (Henry Higgins in "My Fair Lady" and Chauvelin in "The Scarlet Pimpernel").

Meet Isaias Alavéz Martínez of Bomba Marilé!

Isaias Alavéz Martínez is our musical director and one of the co-founders of Bomba Marilé. He enjoys learning music and dance from different cultures. He has traveled to Puerto Rico as well as Cuba to study drumming and dancing. Isaias has also been a salsa dancer in different dance groups. Having a space for a community to share their music, dancing and singing is very important to him. It helps to preserve our cultures for future generations. Isaias is very excited for the opportunity to work with culture lovers in Bomba Marilé and to serve and help grow the Bomba community in Utah.

Meet Craig Moore, Sounding Brass' trombonist!

Craig Moore earned the Bachelor of Music Degree in trombone performance from the Elder Conservatorium (Australia), the Master of Music and Post-Masters Certificate in trombone performance from DePaul University. His primary teachers were Charlie Vernon, Floyd Cooley, Robert Hower and Howard Parkinson. Craig has performed with the Utah, Virginia and Richmond Symphonies, the Utah Chamber Orchestra (Ballet West), the Adelaide and Queensland Symphonies in Australia, the Auckland Philharmonic in New Zealand, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's MusicNOW series. He was also a regular member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Craig is the adjunct trombone professor at Utah Valley University and Westminster College, and formerly was a member of the brass faculty at Christopher Newport University.
