•Hi! I’m Ashley, aka Smash! Let me be real honest with you from the beginning. This nickname came from high school when a friend nicknamed me this because I was always down to party. I grew up a product of divorce from birth, with now a combining total of 13 marriages between my four parents. I was saved at twelve, but never truly knew how to deal with my demons until the last 11 months. Hence- why I was always willing to party and forget the real world, even if just for a little bit.
•My co.: My husband Tyler, daughters Creighton (8), Crosbie (6), and Wripley (1), son Wilder (3); and fur babies Lady (2, border collie), Chief (2, Aussie/heeler), Trooper (1, Chiweenie), & Elsa (stray cat that adopted us in 2018 and I have no idea how old she is).

•I didn’t feel right using the name “smash” as a 37yr old woman without an explanation!
•My high school days were filled with underage drinking because truthfully, there were a handful of us that just understood each other’s childhood traumas and loved one another without regard of family life, how others treated us, or what came next. We knew we were always in each other’s circles. We had underage drinking and excelling in athletics and first-time jobs, in common. Edit to add: God definitely took care of us even in those days when we thought we were invincible, by sprinkling in a handful of really responsible ones who worked more than any of us and always made sure the really reckless ones still made it to class. Josie’s in tow. Iykyk. It’s like God knew (of course He did..) that we were absolutely struggling in some pretty serious aspects in our young lives, and let us thrive together in others, in order to bond us when we needed it most.
•Thank God Himself for my salvation & redemption story; my husband, my testimony, and that I can now find humor, grace, AND mercy in the nickname! My kids think this nickname is so endearing because my high school friends gave it to me, and because of that, I see Him. I was absolutely embarrassed by this nickname when I met my husband. I never wanted him to know this name, or why it was given to me. He was raised so innocent and loving. I was definitely a little more on the wild side, to say the least..
•Now because of my (hi, Holy Spirit..) willingness to truly surrender all, I’ve been humbled beyond belief, and I’m so proud to use this nickname and journey to further His kingdom! What once embarrassed me beyond belief, is something I’m so willing to talk about because I see His glory in it all! I could never have written my story the way He has, and the way He has orchestrated all things in my life. He is always in my details.
•My desire to help dogs, especially strays, began in the womb, I’m pretty sure! Now my husband loves me through it, and our four kids are ready to start a new journey with me! We love our Jesus, our family, homeschooling, being feral, fostering dogs, sports, and protecting our peace. ✌🏼
•My children know the value of a dollar and what being humbled down to nothing means. They want to work to help provide. How am I supposed to say no to that? The Lord truly used my desire for the unwanted dogs, (maybe because I always felt a little unwanted growing up, too), and He’s using that to show my children the opposite of just ignoring those without a voice. We can make a difference, because injustice happens when good people do nothing. One at a time.
