Iced Gingerbread Daiquiri ๐Ÿซš๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿน

I was inspired to make this cocktail after trying some very spicy ginger syrup, and remembering I had some blackstrap rum with a big molasses note. I went back and forth between serving it up, on crushed ice, or frozen, but settled on frozen because the iced gingerbread pun was right in front of me.

This cocktail has all those wonderful gingerbread spices you love, but in a refreshing frozen format, perfect for those that live in warm places (like me).

Recipe
2oz blackstrap rum ๐Ÿน
1oz ginger syrup ๐Ÿซš
3/4oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
1/2oz allspice dram ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ
6 dashes angostura biters ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น
1/4 tsp xanthan gum ๐Ÿงช
180g crushed ice ๐ŸงŠ

Add all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, about 20 seconds. The xanthan gum is optional, but it does give your frozen cocktails that perfect frozen texture and keep them from separating as they melt. Garnish with a sprig of mint, pomegranate arils, and a ginger bread cookie, dust top with powdered sugar.

I was also inspired by this over the top Christmas sweater I won at a game of white elephant ๐Ÿ˜

The Scorpion Kick ๐Ÿฆ‚ ๐Ÿน
This cocktail is like if a daiquiri had a baby with mint chocolate chip ice cream. It has that familiar tangy daiquiri flavor, but with refreshing mint and a chocolatey finish. I came across this recipe on and itโ€™s definitely one of the more unique daiquiris Iโ€™ve had.

It specifically calls for crรจme de cacao which is the best you can get. I got this bottle from

Cocktail recipe
2oz white rum .rum ๐Ÿน
1oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
1/2oz crรจme de cacao ๐Ÿซ
1/4oz simple syrup ๐Ÿญ
8-10 mint leaves ๐Ÿƒ

Combine all ingredients in a tin and shake hard with ice. No need to muddle as the ice will do the muddling for us. Just be sure to double strain to remove any fine shreds of mint or ice chips. Garnish with a lime wheel and mint sprig.

What if German chocolate cake was a cocktail?

Hereโ€™s a teaser for an upcoming reel of my latest original cocktail. I think I hit it out of the park with this one.

The star of the show here is crรจme de cacao. It is wonderful stuff and I would highly recommend it for any home bar. My friends over at gave me this bottle

The Slushy Dog ๐Ÿถ ๐ŸงŠ ๐ŸŠ
This is the frozen version of your auntโ€™s favorite cocktail you didnโ€™t know you needed. Itโ€™s got that familiar and refreshing combo of gin and grapefruit, but in a fun frozen format. The recipe is found in the cocktail book

If you need a cocktail thatโ€™s just as easy to make as it is to drink, try the Chi Chi. It has that familiar tropical flavor of pineapple and coconut, but a lot lighter and brighter than a piรฑa colada due to the larger proportion of pineapple juice. Itโ€™s the perfect drink to introduce vodka drinkers to something with flavor and tropical vibes.

Chi Chi recipe
5oz pineapple juice ๐Ÿ
1oz cream of coconut ๐Ÿฅฅ
2oz vodka ๐Ÿธ
(Optional 1/4-1/2oz lemon juice)

To learn how to make it, check out my reel showing you step by step.

Happy Star Wars day! This is a frozen mojito the same color as Yoda and Grogu and does not rely on any artificial colors. That vibrant shade comes purely from blending the mint. In my opinion this cocktail is more refreshing than a traditional mojito as the mint is much more of a prominent flavor. Itโ€™s also easier to batch for a crowd since the whole thing comes together in a blender. Save this recipe for the next time you have friends coming over for a cocktail party and May the 4th be with you!

Frozen mojito recipe
2oz white rum ๐Ÿน
1oz fresh lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
1oz simple syrup ๐Ÿฌ
A dozen mint leaves ๐Ÿƒ
1 cup crushed ice ๐ŸงŠ

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth. Using crushed ice over cubes for frozen drinks will result in a smooth, more frozen cocktail. Pour into a Yoda tiki mug and garnish with fresh mint. Use a metal straw to save the Porgs!

and met up for tiki drinks where we talked rum, tiki, and future collab plans! ๐Ÿน๐Ÿ—ฟ๐Ÿ๏ธ

I was in LA this past Sunday, and by a stroke of luck our schedules matched up and we were able to meet up! We got to pick each others brains over some fantastic tiki cocktails.

This was my first time at Tonga Hut and I was impressed. The vibes of tiki bars are always top notch and Tonga Hut is no exception. Most everything in the bar is original and still looks fantastic for being 65 years old. Some of my favorite elements are the flaming fountain behind the bar, the Moai at the door, and the booths themselves.

Drinks of course were fantastic, and I canโ€™t wait to get back and sample more of their menu.

Happy St. Patrickโ€™s Day! Today I brought to you a holiday appropriate cocktail that is not neon green. This cocktail has an unexpected pairing of cucumber and whiskey, and along with the elderflower liqueur and fresh mint garnish this cocktail tastes like spring. I would highly recommend this cocktail and I have a step by step recipe reel up so you can learn how to make it yourself.

Recipe

2oz Irish whiskey ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

1/2oz elderflower liqueur ๐ŸŒธ

3/4oz lemon juice ๐Ÿ‹

3/4oz simple syrup ๐Ÿฏ

3 slices of cucumber ๐Ÿฅ’

Add all ingredients to a tin and shake hard for 10-12 seconds. Fine strain into a glass of
ice with a cucumber ribbon pressed on the inside. Garnish with a lemon wheel and fresh mint and enjoy, Slรกinte!

I loved the frozen gin and tonic I made so much that I decided to see if I could make it as a mocktail. I swapped out the gin for a non alcoholic gin substitute and the flavors work just the same. One thing I did not take into consideration though is that alcohol does not freeze, but this non alcoholic product does. So the first time I made it is used about a cup an a half of ice, which was too much and the cocktail froze up on me. I adjusted the ratios and made it again to get a pourable consistency. Sometimes to make a great cocktail thereโ€™s a little trial and error. One thing I did try and enjoy was a few dashes of angostura on top as I love a โ€œpink gin & tonicโ€ here the bitters give a beautiful color contrast and spice aroma to the drink but you can leave them out if you want a completely zero proof cocktail.

Recipe
2oz non alcoholic gin (gift)๐Ÿธ
1oz tonic syrup (gift)๐Ÿฏ
1/2oz rich simple syrup ๐Ÿญ
3/4oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
2-3 dashes angostura bitters ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น
6oz crushed ice ๐ŸงŠ

combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into a chilled glass, garnish with a lime wheel and dash top with angostura bitters (optional). Use a metal straw to save the sea turtles.

Today may be National Margarita Day, but itโ€™s also Don the Beachcombers birthday. Heโ€™s credited with being of of the founding fathers of the tiki craze in America with his introduction of his self titled bars and restaurants, and legendary libations.

He created many famous cocktails that you can still order at most any tiki bar you go to today such as, The Zombie, Navy Grog, Three Dots and a Dash.

Today I wanted to feature one of my favorites the 151 swizzle. This cocktail uses 151 Demerara rum which has a ton of flavor but also a lot of heat which is tamed by lime juice, a touch of sugar syrup, and crushed ice. Accentuated with angostura bitters, a dash of absinthe, and freshly grated nutmeg, this cocktail has all the qualities of a great tiki drink. This is a potent drink though and Don would limit it to only 3 per guest!

Hereโ€™s what you need to make it
1 1/2oz 151 proof Demerara rum ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡พ
1/2oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
1/2oz sugar syrup (I use Demerara) ๐Ÿฏ
1 dash Angostura bitters ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น
6 drops absinthe ๐Ÿงš

In a tall glass combine all ingredients and fill 3/4 of the way with crushed ice. Swizzle until the glass is well frosted then top with more crushed ice. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg a mint bouquet and cinnamon stick. Donโ€™t forget the metal straw to save the sea turtles!

When I make this cocktail, I usually add a little bit more lime juice and simple syrup for my tastes as 151 is strong stuff.

This prohibition era cocktail has stood the test of time and is still popular today. I often have berries and honey for dessert when having dinner with my parents so adding blackberries to this cocktail was a perfect addition.

Recipe
2oz gin ๐Ÿธ
3/4oz honey syrup ๐Ÿฏ
3/4oz lemon juice ๐Ÿ‹
3 blackberries ๐Ÿซ

To make the honey syrup mix three parts honey to one part hot water. Add all ingredients to shaker and shake with two large cubes of ice. Fine strain into your glass either up or on a large cube of ice. Garnish with a lemon slice and blackberries.

Itโ€™s Negroni week so try this low abv version perfect for enjoying on a sunny day! This version of the Negroni is made refreshing by being shaken with crushed ice and orange juice. I had just gone to the farmers market where I picked up some blood oranges and I love the color so I had to use them. The Negroni is one of my favorite cocktails and this variation is the most refreshing version Iโ€™ve had, being packed in crushed ice and with a pleasant bitterness, I would choose this over a Sunday brunch mimosa any day.

Recipe
3/4oz Gin ( )๐Ÿธ
3/4oz Campari ( )๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น
3/4oz sweet vermouth ( )๐Ÿท
3/4oz blood orange juice ๐ŸŠ
3 dashes orange bitters ( )๐ŸŠ

Combine all ingredients and shake with crushed ice. Pour into a tall glass, stick in a metal straw to save the sea turtles and top with more crushed ice for a white snowcap. Express an orange peel and lay it on top of your drink.

This drink uses the classic Jungle Bird template but tastes like a Negroni mashed up with a Mai Tai. Itโ€™s tropical, bittersweet, and refreshing from the combo of bitter liqueur, pineapple, lime, and nutty Orgeat. Since this drink has some Negroni inspired flavors I thought it very fitting to share for Negroni Week.

Recipe
1 1/2oz gin ๐Ÿธ
3/4oz Bruto Americano
1 1/2oz pineapple juice ๐Ÿ
1/2oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
1/2oz Orgeat ๐Ÿฏ

I had an idea floating around in my head for a cocktail combining the flavors of the Fernet and Coke, and Cuba Libre, but served up like a daiquiri. Turns out my brain was right and this drink is delicious. It sips like a daiquiri but has that signature bitter Fernet flavor and some spice and citrus notes from the cola syrup. I chose a white rum to help โ€œlightenโ€ up the flavor of the Fernet and cola syrup. The rum is not overpowered by the more assertive flavors and still sips like a daiquiri. This cocktail is almost like a balance of 3 classic cocktails. I chose to name this cocktail after a famous Argentinian sailor who circumnavigated the southern ocean single handed. But if you have another idea for a name, Iโ€™d like to hear it.

Recipe
1 1/2oz light rum ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฟ

3/4oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹

This cocktail is by Sam Ross from the Milk and Honey bar in New York City. At a glance itโ€™s a whiskey smash made with rye and the addition of Fernet Branca but these changes make for a wonderful complex cocktail. Iโ€™m partial to the spice of rye and I used Renรฉ from Clearwater Distilling for its excellent flavor and bold character that helps it stand up to the other ingredients. If you want to pick up a bottle, check out my LinkTree. This cocktail is also great for introducing someone to Fernet, itโ€™s signature bitter flavor is tempered by the lemon and sugar. The cooling menthol effect is enhanced by the fresh mint to give a more dimensional mint flavor. The half ounce stands out without overpowering. The overall combination of spice, mint, bitter, citrus, and sweetness makes for an excellent hot weather cocktail. It was a scorching day in San Diego when I saw .foisy.186 post this cocktail, so I ran to go make it and that turned out to be an excellent decision.

Recipe
1 1/2oz Renรฉ ๐Ÿฅƒ
1/2oz Fernet Branca ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น
3 lemon wedges ๐Ÿ‹
3/4oz simple syrup ๐Ÿญ
8 mint leaves ๐Ÿƒ

Muddle the lemons and mint to extract oils and juices. Add rest of ingredients and shake with ice. Strain over fresh ice and garnish with a lemon peel and fresh mint sprig. I didnโ€™t fine strain so there were small mint pieces in my drink, I donโ€™t really mind them, but you may wish to fine strain while making this drink.

If you want a fruity drink, donโ€™t buy artificially flavored rums, just put fruit in your drink! Obvious right? You can muddle most any fruit in a daiquiri but I like the sweet tart combination of blueberry and pineapple. I also really like the color the blueberries gave to the drink.

Recipe
2oz white rum ๐Ÿน
1oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
3/4oz simple syrup ๐Ÿฌ
3 chunks pineapple ๐Ÿ
Small handful blueberries ๐Ÿซ

Combine all ingredients and muddle. Shake with ice and fine strain over a large clear cube of ice ( ). Garnish with blueberries and pineapple fronds. Adjust the simple syrup and lime juice based on the fruit you use, you may need more or less to balance the cocktail

Frozen cocktails can also be craft! I saw this recipe on channel and have been meaning to try it for awhile now. Created by this recipe features higher quality rums and banana liqueur than your typical cruise ship. The combination of fresh banana and banana liqueur makes for a multi dimensional banana flavor. The combination of rums shines through, I use a funky jamican rum here which many say has notes of over ripe tropical fruits and banana so pairing it with banana helps enhance those qualities. For the white rum I used Copali which lends some great fresh sugarcane notes. Giffard makes a wonderful banana liqueur and it was worth it to pick up a bottle for this recipe, this is definitely something Iโ€™m going to incorporate into a lot more cocktails.

1/2oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
1/2oz Demerara syrup ๐Ÿญ
1 banana ๐ŸŒ
1 1/2 cups crushed ice ๐ŸงŠ

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, about 20-30 seconds. Using crushed or pebble ice helps here as blenders generate friction heat, so the quicker you can blend your cocktail the more frozen it will be. Garnish with a banana slice, preferably brรปlรฉed and enjoy!

As you know Iโ€™m a huge fan of Reyn Spooner shirts so I was stoked when reached out and wanted to send me a shirt and have a cocktail go with it. Since Iโ€™m a big fan of their shirts I decided to make a cocktail with things Iโ€™m a big fan of. I also felt it fitting to name the cocktail after myself. I use a rich Demerara rum, passion fruit, vanilla, falernum, lime and bitters. Iโ€™m a huge fan of the tiki flavor combination of tropical fruits and spices and this drink shows off that combo very well, the rich rum is supported by the spice notes of the vanilla and falernum, the passion fruit and lime provide a great tropical tang. This drink is super approachable and easy to make.

Recipe
2oz Demerara rum Hamilton 86๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡พ
3/4oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
1/2oz rich vanilla syrup ๐Ÿง
1/2oz passion fruit syrup ๐Ÿฏ
1/2oz falernum ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ง
1 dash Angostura bitters ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น

Combine all ingredients and shake with a few cubes of ice for 10-15 seconds to chill, dilute and aerate the cocktail. Open pour into your tiki mug of choice and top with crushed ice. Garnish with mint candied orange, lime, and a cinnamon stick. Stick in a reusable straw, put on a cool shirt, sit down and enjoy!

Look forward to more photos from the photoshoot tomorrow! I was really stoked to share my recipe today.

This original mocktail was inspired by some of the flavors of South East Asia, and transports you to the beaches of Thailand. Tiki is about interesting faraway lands and taking a vacation and putting it in a drink. If you canโ€™t take a vacation anytime soon this drink is a suitable substitute. I use a homemade spicy and aromatic lemongrass ginger syrup (video coming soon!) for an intense flavor and aroma. This drink is all about the homemade syrup so by keeping the rest of the drink simple, a little lime for a complimentary flavor and acidity, and lengthening with soda water we let the syrup take the spotlight.

Recipe
1oz ginger-lemongrass syrup ๐Ÿฏ
1oz lime juice ๐Ÿ‹
4-6oz soda water ๐Ÿ’ง

Combine all ingredients in a collins and give a gentle stir to combine. Garnish with a lime shell and paper umbrella!

Everyone loves a Shirley Temple, but this isnโ€™t the drink of your youth. This craft version for adults uses extra spicy ginger beer, homemade cinnamon spiced grenadine, fresh squeezed lime, and California made vodka. The homemade grenadine shines in this drink; the rich pomegranate flavor takes center stage and supported by spicy dry ginger beer and fresh lime. Pomegranate, ginger and cinnamon give this drink a fall/winter vibe yet is bright and refreshing so it is not out of place to be enjoyed in the summer. Vodka works in this drink to let the other ingredients stand out and gives the drink some dryness.

Recipe
2oz vodka (gifted)๐Ÿธ
3/4oz cinnamon spiced grenadine ๐Ÿฏ
1/2oz fresh lime ๐Ÿ‹
Top with dry ginger beer (gifted)๐Ÿบ

Combine first three ingredients and shake with ice. Pour into a collins glass and top with ginger beer. Give a gentle stir to combine all ingredients. Garnish with candied ginger and a lime wheel.

Happy National Espresso Martini Day! I want to share my original take on the espresso martini I have been making long before I started making cocktails for the internet. Itโ€™s named the Buzzing Bee because it features caffeine, alcohol and honey (haha do you get it? I know itโ€™s a very deep joke). I love the way that coffee and honey play together and often take my morning coffee with a drizzle of local honey. Honey has a subtle acidity that plays well with the acidity of espresso and I find it much more interesting than plain sugar. I donโ€™t use coffee liqueur in this recipe because I want my espresso and vodka to stand out and the honey is sweet enough. Since this drink has so few ingredients itโ€™s important to use the best quality ones you have available. The espresso martini is a vodka cocktail I really do enjoy so I was really happy when sent me a bottle of their award winning vodka in a care package. I found it exceptionally smooth and is made from sugar cane rather than corn or grain so it has a subtle flavor difference that works perfectly in this cocktail.

Recipe
1 1/2oz vodka ( )๐Ÿธ
1 1/2oz espresso โ˜•๏ธ
1/4oz honey ๐Ÿฏ

Pull a shot of espresso and melt the honey in the hot espresso (my machine does 1.5oz shots so thatโ€™s what I use) you may adjust honey to personal sweetness. Allow to cool for a minute before adding to your shaker along with vodka and ice. Shake hard for 5-10 seconds and strain into a coupe glass or over a large rock. No garnish is necessary as the foam is beautiful on its own.
