It’s #GivingTuesday! For more than a decade, the Symphony has supported its military community with the gift of music. By partnering with organizations that support service members, veterans, and their families, the Symphony brings these communities together to experience the power of live performance.
This year, with help from our military partners and you, the Symphony will distribute 3,550 free tickets to concerts throughout its 24-25 season. Our ability to expand the number of tickets and opportunities is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
On this global day of giving, we hope you will make a gift and help us show our military heroes and their families that they are truly appreciated, both by you and by the San Diego Symphony.

"Tres minutos" is a powerful chamber opera inspired by real moments at the U.S.-Mexico border, where families separated by immigration policies reunite—but only for three minutes. ⌚
Hear from composer Nicolás Lell Benavides and librettist Marella Martin Koch as they share the inspiration behind the story of Diego and Nila, a brother and sister bonded by DNA but divided by citizenship.
🎭 Don’t miss this moving performance at the newly renovated Jacobs Music Center on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 7:30 PM

We had Gen Z write the marketing script for the new Jacobs Music Center... #ExperienceJMC
JD is the Director of Marketing and Sales Technology at the San Diego Symphony and has been working here for 22 years. What an icon! 🤩 #StayClassical #Goals
In honor of Día de los Muertos this past weekend, the San Diego Symphony celebrated in a variety of ways with the community, including:
💃 a performance by Mariachi Los Camperos with Grupo Folklórico Chiquina Palafox at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park
🌸 a community ofrenda at the new Jacobs Music Center decorated by artist Maricruz Alvarado
👪 a family concert complete with crafts and art installations
🎶 and more!
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a deeply meaningful Mexican holiday that spans centuries, honoring the lives of those who have passed. Families and friends gather to build altars, or ofrendas, adorned with photos, candles, marigolds, and the favorite foods and belongings of those remembered, welcoming their spirits back for a joyous reunion. Thank you for celebrating with us! 💀🌸🎼🎺
