We are organizing a GoFundMe to help Joe and her get back on their feet and provide for their family, and allow them to chase their dream again. Please donate if you can, and share their story! Let’s come together as a community and give back to two of the most hardworking and deserving people 🙏🏻

Last week I had the privilege of coordinating the inaugural LNB BIPOC VC’s Recognition Night in San Francisco. It was very inspiring to listen to the keynote speakers, learn about the nominees, and celebrate with all the winners! ✨ And the cherry on the cake: I got to spend the night with two of my dearest friends. Cheers to female entrepreneurs and minorities leading the way in the Venture Capital world!

She’s coming back to life! Bikes and selfies and gravel and smiles. Learning to “take better care of yourself” is a harder lesson to implement than you think. At least for me. But. Here we are. Don’t deny your humanity. Feeling human can be painful but isn’t it beautiful to feel the poignant feels? Sit with them for a minute. Acknowledge them. Label them, if you can, or smirk at the complexity of your emotions. Ride the wave. Find joy in the simple things. Feeling alive is a true gift. 💝

Take good care of yourself today and every day you can. And we can’t, we’ve got you. Playing bikes seems to solve most things. Why yes, that’s what I plan to do today. Seems like a good way to celebrate a Friday. 👸🏼

This Saturday, January 6th, is the 𝘌𝘱𝘪𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘦, a very french tradition, where families and friends typically share a 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘪𝘴. Historically, it celebrates the arrival of the Three Wise Men in Bethlehem.
Composed of a puff pastry cake, with a small charm, the 𝘧è𝘷𝘦, hidden inside, it is usually filled with frangipane, a cream made from sweet almonds, butter, eggs and sugar. Tradition dictates that the youngest member of the table is placed under the table and distributes the shares without looking so that the 𝘧è𝘷𝘦 is distributed randomly. The lucky one to get the 𝘧è𝘷𝘦 hidden in their share (careful not to break a tooth!) is crowned 𝘙𝘰𝘪 (King) or 𝘙𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘦 (Queen) with the paper crown. 👑
Nowadays, it is very common to enjoy a 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘪𝘴 at different occasions during an entire week, with family members, friends and even coworkers, because French people are very 𝘨𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴.
