This week our site visits adventures took us to the Big Apple- we wandered through the hushed grandeur of the Temple of Dendur at the Metropolitan Museum of Art—a space where light, reflection, and history meet in breathtaking harmony. Cant wait to see if our client chooses this location! One of our favorite details? When Jackie O hosted soirées at her Fifth Avenue townhouse, she was known to slip a little bribe to the Met’s guards so the temple would remain lit during her cocktail parties. Imagine her guests sipping champagne, glancing from her terrace into the glowing ancient stone—timeless glamour at its finest.

And then—an unexpected gift while we were there: the “John Singer Sargent: Fashioned by Sargent” exhibition. Beyond his brushwork, what struck us most was the sheer theatricality of his prop styling—the silks, jeweled fans, tapestries, and objets d’art carefully positioned to elevate every portrait into a scene. It felt like stepping into the original world of editorial set design. Those layered details remind us how much staging, context, and narrative can transform not just a painting—but an entire experience.

From the ancient to the modern, New York once again delivers endless inspiration.

Recently, we had the joy of collaborating with some of our absolute favorite creatives to bring a full-scale wedding vendor showcase to life—designed not just as a styled photo shoot, but as a true community event.

We designed an entire wedding day scenario and invited our friends, neighbors and colleagues to meet this A list team! Our vendors work typically keeps them heads down at events so that they don't have an opportunity to network. We planned this sip and see to provide them an opportunity to change that! At Port Town Collective, we believe weddings should be more than just one perfect day—they should be inspirations that linger, and experiences worth sharing.

This showcase brought together muralists, florists, rentals, photographers, stylists, musicians, chefs, and makers—every detail designed and directed by Port Town Collective to show how artful a wedding can truly be. But even more importantly, it gave our community a chance to engage, connect, and feel inspired— without the pressure of a real wedding day.

There’s something truly rare and sacred about being a wedding planner. It’s not just timelines and tablescapes—it’s trust. It’s being welcomed into the most intimate season of someone’s life, and somewhere along the journey from first call to final toast, a shift happens. Clients become friends. The bond deepens. And on wedding day? We’re misty-eyed right alongside the parents and the partner at the end of the aisle.

Finding the perfect balance in a client-planner relationship is magic—and not always common. But when it happens, it feels like fate. That’s exactly what happened with S & B. From the very beginning, there was a sense of connection, ease, and shared excitement. Planning their weekend was a joy, not a job. And what a weekend it was—unforgettable in every sense.

We turned the Jacksonville Zoo into a pink jungle paradise for one wildly fun celebration, complete with a live DJ spinning dance beats under the palms, surprise appearances by real animal ambassadors, and interactive moments that had little explorers roaring with excitement.
