Day 6 and 7: At Sea & Victoria B.C.

We enjoyed our second "At-Sea" day which was great for a little R&R after 3 consecutive days of hoofing it around the Alaska ports. We spent a little extra time in the SeaPlex on Deck 15 where you have ping-pong tables, basketball courts, an XBOX area, bumper cars, and more. We also hit the pools and hot-tubs for a bit.

In Victoria, we just hopped off ship and walked to the Fisherman's Wharf. From there we hopped on a water taxi and went to the Chinatown district and visited several areas near the downtown area.

There is also a couple photos from the morning of our return to Seattle.

Day 5: Juneau Bigfoot Town Hall

Now Juneau is different for me on this trip as there is no obligations regarding the preparation for the Town Hall to be done in June. So, Alex and I just explored the town, road the tram, and checked out the Salmon Bake.

Of course, the day begins with the cruising of Glacier Bay where some of mu favorite photos were taken.

Day 4: Skagway

Once again we jumped off the ship and wandered into town. I went and met up with two of our excursion providers, The White PassYukon Railway and the Skagway Travel. We ended up hopping on the tour that will be hosted by RPG in September and had a great time. We also visited the The Sittin' Sasquatch and the Red Onion Saloon.

Day 2 (At Sea) and 3 (Sitka)

We left Seattle in the evening and had a full day at sea on the 15th as we navigated to Sitka. That 1st sea day is an excellent time to really familiarize yourself with the ship and its many restaurants, shops, activities, and entertainment options. Alex tried "Rip Cord", the Skydiving simulator and we both took in a show at the Two70 venue.

We spent the 16th bouncing around the city and taking in some of the attractions. There are some really cool things to see while there and we visited quite a few of them, including The Historic Sitka State Park, The Fortress of the Bear, Totem Park, The Sitka Sound Science Center, and a few others.

Hello, this is Marty, the coordinator/director for the Alaska Bigfoot Cruise. Yesterday marked the start of our site evaluation cruise. Over the next 7 days, I'll be meeting with the onboard team from Royal Caribbean to discuss our event spaces, sessions, and technology. I'll also visit all the ports of call we’ll explore in September, where I'll connect with many of our excursion providers.

Throughout the week, I'll post photos and insights, so follow along for a sneak peek of the ship and destinations on the 2024 Alaska Bigfoot Cruise.

My teenage son, Alex, is accompanying me, so if you see someone sneaking into a lot of my photos, that's him! Today's photos are from our day in Seattle before departure. See if you can spot a recognizable friend in one of them.

VISUAL FAQ #2

Is the food free? Yes.. and no. There are 7 restaurants on the ship that offer complimentary dining. These range from the more sophisticated meals in the Main Dining Hall to grabbing a simpl e slice of pizza at Sorrento's or a quick brat at the Dog House. There are also at-cost restaurants if a passenger wants to try them as well.

Learn more about the restaurants here: https://www.royalcaribbeanincentives.com/ship/ovation-of-the-seas/dining/

I will also add images of some of the Main Dining Hall dinner menus in the comments. These are subject to change but should be a good reference for any first-time cruisers.
