Deadline is coming so SUBMIT your story! It's that time of year again. We've officially opened our doors for the 2025 Crypticon Seattle Writing Contest 🙂. We will take submissions until March 10th, 2025.
We select 5 stories each year (3 winners and 2 honorable mentions). You'll also be published alongside 3 local industry professionals!
This year, we have a confirmed contribution by Luciano Marano. Last year's featured pro, Gordon B. White, will also return to author our forward.
All winners receive a cash prize and tickets to the convention for the weekend.
Honorable mentions receive a 1-day pass.
Basic guidelines:
-Standard Format (12 pt font, TNR, 1-inch margins, etc.)
- 5k word count Maximum (no minimum, though flash fiction will be a very hard sell)
- Original work is preferred, but will consider reprints if you own all the rights.
-Erotica and Extreme Horror will be a hard sell but are not disallowed.
-NO AI. Write it your-damn-self or submit it elsewhere.

Crypticon Seattle Film Festival looks for dark, scary, creepy, bloody, haunting, nasty, indie, underground, eerie, violent, strange, unusual, horror, horrific, weird, and macabre!
The festival is part of a large community of horror and film lovers. The festival is about the love of horror and all things dark, weird, and unusual. We screen for a truly appreciative audience full of enthusiasm and look forward to watching what we do every year.
Horror can be high art, high camp, and everything in between, and we love it all.

Crypticon Seattle and Central Cinema are going to summer camp in January 9th 2025!
Join us as we screen the 1983 classic SLEEPAWAY CAMP featuring live commentary from our special guest, Angela herself, FELISSA ROSE!
Felissa will share memories of shooting the cult favorite as well as how its fandom has developed over the years as she is joined by a small panel of Seattle horror experts including Central Cinema's own Baron Von Terror, ilovesplatter.com's Amie Simon, and Crypticon Seattle Director of Guest Relations Steve Lange.
Felissa will also be hanging out after the screening to meet all her fans, answer questions, sign autographs, and take pictures (price not included w/admission).
Thursday, January 9th - $20 admission. Screening begins at 8:00pm, meet and greet session immediately following.
