Taylor's Mercantile is a unique florist and gift shop located in downtown Sewanee, close to the University of the South. The building was originally the P.S.

Taylor’s Mercantile was established in 1984. Ken Taylor has built an outstanding reputation by offering exceptional gifts, decor and flower design. During the holiday season, the store is transformed into a Christmas wonderland and is reported to be the best Christmas store between Nashville and Atlanta. In addition to the excellent selection of gift items and home decor, Taylor’s offers floral a

rrangements and event design. As a floral designer with more than 36 years of experience, Taylor’s Mercantile can make the special occasion truly memorable with a stunning arrangement. These arrangements are not just the ordinary, but the exceptional. Taylor’s Mercantile event planning ranges from small gatherings to that all important wedding day. His work has been featured in Southern Living, Martha Stewart Weddings, The Knot, and Traditional Home. Brooks dry goods store circa 1915, and was purchased by William Hamilton in 1963 to be used as a hardware store. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. We are home and settled in. Much of the pain has subsided. Reactions to the anesthesia have practically stopped. Now for the important part - patience and rest - two things that I’m not an expert of! Your calls, cards, best wishes, and most importantly - your continued prayers - have sustained us during the past two weeks. I’m allowed to walk and exercise as tolerated - just no lifting or solid foods for a few more weeks.
Being surrounded by Sewanee Angels is an incredible gift, and we are most grateful to dwell among them!
