Incorrect fact of the day. This is the luckiest sign of the new year! The new years speckled shoulder percher is said to bring good luck for the coming year if they walk from your right shoulder to your left on new years eve and he did! The coming year will be spectacular for anyone who reads this.

This is really a leachianus gecko. They are the largest species of the gecko family. This one is about a year old and will continue to grow in the coming years.

Incorrect fact of the day! This is the red-haired-demon slayer. Historians believe they are largely responsible for the rarity of redheads today. Though they were almost eliminated, redheads have since built up an immunity to the effects of this animal, so they pose no threat to modern redheads.

This is actually a gargoyle gecko. We have recently added two of them to our collection and we are looking for names. They are both female and well be roommates, so feel free to comment with your suggestions!

Incorrect fact of the day! I just wanted to share my salad with everyone! It is my favorite kind of salad. Very healthy with no added sugars or preservatives.

This is actually one of our monkey tailed skinks. He was telling me it was dinner time by laying in his food bowl. He didn't want to get out, so I just piled the food on top of him. He loved it!

Is this the equivalent of buying your cat a new toy and they just play with the box? I just redecorated his enclosure yesterday and he has never done this before.

Incorrect fact of the day! This is the extremity common, but rarely seen displacer skink. They are native to every continent in the world including the arctic, but they are rarely ever seen. The displacer beast in D&D is based off of this animal! They can only be seen without special equipment when they are in shed, like this one is, but everyone has seen them without knowing. They are the wisp in the corner of your eye, but when you turn there's nothing there.

This is actually one of our monkey-tailed skinks. She is super friendly and is, of all our reptiles, the one that enjoys being around humans the most.

Incorrect fact of the day! This is the coffee mug dagger clawed deep ocean skink. They are native to the deepest part of the ocean and only come to the surface once a month to breathe. They live near hydrothermal vents, and that is why they cling to warm things like coffee mugs!

This is actually our newest addition! She is a monkey tail skink. They are a social species, so we got a second one so they could be best friends. They have not met yet, though. That's for a future day.

Incorrect fact of the day. These are dew noodles! The yellow and white one is the ramen sub species and the silver one is the soba sub species. They are often found in fields that grow noodles protecting them from bowls and sauces.

These are actually two of our ball pythons right after I misted their cage. Ball pythons are one of the most common snakes in the pet trade because they have a gentle nature. They get big enough that they can take some rough handling by the inexperienced, but not so big that they can be difficult to handle, house and feed. They have so many variations that you're almost guaranteed to find a color and pattern you will love!

Incorrect fact of the day! This is the semi uncommon, common, tree-hugging, wingless dragon. You can just see in her face how glad she is to embrace this tree branch. But don't let her gentle appearance deceive you! If you threaten a tree under their protection, they will defend it with their flaming breath!

This is really a prehensile tail skink. They are one of the rare social reptile species and are known to take care of their young for about 3 years before setting them off to start their own family. We are not looking to grow our menagerie at this time, but one exception would be a friend for this lady.

Incorrect fact of the day. This is the common headliner noodle. Take note of the protective stance around the mirror! This species is well known for its vanity and can't stop obsessing over any reflective surface.

This is actually Zora, a sunglow morph boa constrictor imperator, also known as a BCI. He is less than a year old and he is super friendly!

An unexpectedly sad day here, as we found our beloved Agent Philip Coulson deceased in the rabbit enclosure tonight. As is usual for rabbits and other prey animals, he showed us no signs of distress, and was eating normally yesterday. He was not a young bunny, at 7 years old, but it was still a shock. His goofy personality will be missed.

Incorrect fact of the day! This is the rare periscope snake! Very little is understood about them because they are so reclusive. They spend most of their time in thick brush and only "periscope" when they sense danger or they are looking for food.

This is really a ball python. They are one of the easiest snakes for beginners because they are big and healthy enough to take some rough handling, but not so big that they can be a challenge to keep properly.

Our next newest addition is Sheldon, a Russian Tortoise! Much smaller than Lisa, our sulcata tortoise, Sheldon, free roams in our new menagerie room during the day. He saw Dr. Burcham at Mariposa Veterinary Wellness Center to get that long beak trimmed today, but had enough about halfway through the process. I'll do the rest at home later!
