Graduation parties have been some of the best events this season. This past weekend we were honored to be a part of this sweet event for this graduate. This family had a great party with a taco and gordita bar on the front lawn, specialty punches (horchata, hibiscus, limon, etc.), hopping DJ music with lighting, and great guests that “were there for the party”. They booked the building until 11:00 but I told them as long as they were having fun to just call me when they were ready for me to lock it up so they did. I was happy to do that for them and I so enjoying knowing that they got everything they could out of their booking with us. Happy fun times are what it is all about. They brought the party & we just provide the backdrop.

Another fabulous graduation celebration was held at Whispering Pines this weekend. This was such a fabulous family to work with. They were truly a blessing and such a fun joyful group. The people are my favorite part of running this venue. Congrats to Brooke and all the 2024 graduates. Go out into this world and do mighty things!!

It’s that time of year for end of year parties & graduation parties. We would love to host your event. Recommended times for this season through summer are early in the day or late evening.
Example:
- 9:am to noon is the perfect time as that’s the coolest time of the day inside our venue.
- 7:pm to 10:pm is the second best time because everything cools down after the sun starts to set.

Remember, this is the “blank slate” you get. We have all the tables & chairs along with various options for special things (barrels, spools, octagon arch, photography lighting, photo op areas, simple prep kitchen, two restrooms, etc.). You get to decorate to your liking. We have loved seeing the variety of ways each client has decorated for their event and put their unique spin on it. Page through & look at some of the past bookings. What could you do with this space? Weddings, receptions, birthdays, baby showers, wedding showers, engagement parties, graduation parties, family reunions, business meetings or parties, fundraiser events, and more!!!

Sunday there was a precious ONE year old’s birthday party at Whispering Pines. This momma loves her baby girl. She did a wonderful decorating & threw a fabulous birthday party. It’s so fun seeing so many wonderful memories be made in our old building.

What a gorgeous day for a Gender Reveal at the venue today! The friends did a fabulous job of decorating for their sweet friend. We are set up & ready for a small event. The client will decorate to their liking, but this photo is a great glimpse inside the building. We provide tables & chairs (along with various other items we have on hand). The first photo is up closer so you see the four tables & 24 chairs arranged. The second photo gives you a glimpse of the additional floor space available for larger events. We can accommodate small or large events for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, weddings, baby showers, wedding showers, house warmings, quinceaneras, dances, business parties, craft nights, workout & dance groups, club meetings, market days, and more. We would love to be apart of your next gathering!

One of the least talked about parts of a venue is the restrooms; however, it’s one of the most important parts. Today, I put the last touch in place to make one of our restrooms completely ADA compliant. That one also has a built in changing station for babies.

Our venue is a work in progress and one of the things we really wanted to acquire for decor are old whiskey or molasses barrels. Part of the history of our building is it was originally built in 1939 as a hay barn & molasses barrels were stored there because the molasses was fed to the cows to bulk the cattle up. When we bought the building we noticed black rings on the floor but had no idea what they were. I was able to contact CZ Pope, the son of the original owner of the barn. While we were discussing the history of the building he told me in the summer the molasses barrels would get hot and pop leaving molasses on the floor. We have been able to acquire six old barrels in the last couple of weeks which we’ve cleaned up some but left rustic. They look great in the building and are also able to be used as decor pieces for our clients’ events. I’m pretty excited about these old barrels. Fun fact: 1 came from Jasper, 3 from Hillister, and 2 from Winnie. These things are hard to acquire!

Tonight we had the pleasure of joining forces with the amazing ladies from the Silsbee Tiger Band Boosters as they hosted a Sweetheart Dance for mother/son & father/daughter dance. We love this so much!! They had a great turnout & made wonderful memories.

There will always be more work to do but tomorrow from 10:am-1:pm we are opening up our doors & inviting you all in for a sneak peek. Tonight we spent the evening “hanging the green” to welcome the holiday season. We’ve set up two photo op spots & tomorrow morning we might pull together a couple more.
