Go forth in the direction of your dreams, even if you aren’t confident. Do it scared. (it still counts.) On second thought, chase waterfalls. Wear red lipstick (and nail polish) if you feel like it. Read. Don’t smile unless you want to. Close the or**sm gap. (Demand GREAT s*x.) Speak up even if your voice trembles (and if you can’t speak the words, a text and an email will do). Impress yourself. Channel your Inner Susan, but keep “Shenequa” on call too (cause she’s necessary sometimes). Ask for what you want. Never take the bass out of your voice. Dream an impossible dream and write the plan to make it possible. Execute it. Never ever settle. (Ever.) Don’t date fuccbois (not even for the D. Crazy is contagious.) Travel. Trust your gut. Don’t wait til you’re 60 to get/feel free. Start today. Help someone who reminds you of you. Admit when you’re wrong. If you must lie, never lie to yourself. Learn to say “thank you” in five languages. Learn to say”f— you” in five languages too. Never apologize for how you get “cheese for your egg”. Or yourself. Read “Becoming”. Choose being alone (even if dysfunctional) over “paired” and dysfunctional. Put your own oxygen mask on first. Call your Mother. If she’s passed, call on her. (She’s still with you.) Get a 60+ woman in your life and let her read you for filth and steer you around her mistakes. (There’s no need to repeat someone else’s mistakes.) Enjoy her stories of past and current ratchetness. (No one gives less f—s than a 60+ year old woman.) Find your voice. Use it liberally. Never dull your shine. Share what you learned with others. Give the compassion you want to receive. Pack light. If you’re waiting for a sign, this is it. Oh, and if you need a reminder to cancel a 30 day subscription, this is also it. Be multifaceted. And purposeful. Sit still when you’re frustrated.
