Hi Boynton's friends! So some of you may know that my account was hacked a while ago and despite every effort to gain access again, I only can do so in a very limited capacity. So, I had to make the very difficult decision to start a new page. This is just devastating to me because I have worked on my previous page for 9 or 10 years. We had a pretty good following and it really helped us show off our products, share some humor, pretty pictures and helpful hints for plants and gardening. If you could help us out by sharing some of our posts and inviting some of your own friends you think would be interested, I would be eternally grateful!

P.S. This is not a page where you will be bombarded with constant sales pitches, mostly just nice pictures of our work so please don't worry that you're setting your friends up for constant advertisements. Thank you so much!

Our Boynton's Greenhouse family has recently lost a bright light. Adam Archer worked here this spring. His sweet smile, sense of humor, quick intelligence and charming nature quickly endeared him to all of us. We thought of him as a kid brother, the one you like to gently tease about wearing a wool hat and baggy sweatpants when working in a hot greenhouse, but secretly really love and admire for his kindness and work ethic. We cannot begin to express our sorrow at his sudden passing. His loss is devastating to his parents and sister, his extended family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Adam loved sports, in particular soccer, and animals of all kinds. If you wish to help us commemorate his far too brief life, you could help a sports program at a school or community center of your choice or donate to a local animal shelter.

We finally got a shipment of clay pots! We got standard sizes in 3 colors, terracotta, granite and dark basalt. I really like the granite and dark basalt ones. Clay is so good for plants, but the classic terracotta is a bit plain. I think the 2 new colors is a great upgrade. We also got more of the powder-coated clay pots in lots of colors and a small assortment of other items. We're still waiting for another major shipment. I will keep you posted!

Construction time! Don't worry if you see our main greenhouse looking like this. We're moving all our houseplants out to #1 greenhouse under shade. They will be happy out there while we level our floor and build new benches! We still have a ton of healthy houseplants to choose from with new ones arriving weekly.

So far Kim Getchell has not come in to claim her prize. Please share this post in the hopes she sees it!

We have a winner! There were 4 people who guessed the correct amount of sunflowers we got this week... 225! We pulled 1 of those names from a hat and the winner is...KIM GETCHELL!!!
COME GET YOUR SUNFLOWERS, KIM!
The other 3 people with the correct answer are Tina Perkins, Karen Belyea, and Stacey Brown. If you can come in, we will give you a wrapped package of sunflowers too!

Guess and win a sunflower bouquet!!!
There was a slight miscommunication between me and the wholesaler so we got a few more sunflowers than we intended. Guess how many we got today! Whoever comes closest will get a free bouquet of them; you'll just need to pick it up. We will accept guesses today, tomorrow and Thursday. If more than 1 person gets it right, we will randomly draw a name of the correct guesses. Comment below with your guesses. Good luck!

Cool new plant alert!

Cool new plant alert!

We got a plant yesterday that I had not seen before. It's called ficus umbellata. Right now they are in 4" pots, but they can get quite large. This is what I read about them:

If you’re looking for a new, whimsical plant to add to your decor in 2021, the Ficus Umbellata could be the one!

Being in the fig (ficus) family, the Umbellata is of African origin but has popularity in Japanese culture as a houseplant.

This newcomer has some similar features to the Fiddle Leaf Fig, with large, heart-shaped leaves and thin stems. So if you’ve tried (or failed) growing a Fiddle, maybe it’s time to move on to the next big Fig.

Below is a picture of what they CAN look like after growing a while. In the comments, there is a picture of what they look like right now.

The second batch of lifesaver plants has arrived! I have 13 saved for people and about 8 to sell to whoever comes first come, first serve. None of them are blooming at the moment, but I researched them a bit more and they seem to be similar to a lot of blooming plants that start blooming in early fall (October) and continue through early spring (March/April). Of course, we know they don't follow an exact schedule since we've had some blooming last week!
Come get them folks!
If you asked us to save you one, please let us know when you come in so we can cross you off the list. I have information pages to go with each one so make sure you get one of those too.
