These cold nights are a time of transition here in the farm. The flowers are winding down but the fall crops are ready and cool crops are thriving. I’ll have unwrapped bunches of flowers while they last, but am now offering dried flower bunches and squash for autumn decorating. Plus a random assortment of veggies. Get them while they last!

Finish your Labor Day by grabbing some produce (cucumbers, zucchini, tomatillos, shish*to peppers, decorative squash) or fall flowers at the farm stand today. If you’re enjoying the last day of the Evergreen State Fair, the farm is easy to swing by when you’re done, if you’re heading what. Open until dark.

I’ve been lax on my socials after vacation, but the season isn’t over yet! Stop by today and grab a bouquet with some of the last sunflowers of the season. Soon I’ll have sunflower seed heads available for purchase to feed birds in the cold months.

Just a pink rainbow hanging out over the greenhouse. 90 degrees isn’t ideal for seedlings and cold loving flowers but I’m hoping it brings an early dahlia season.

I’m a couple weeks later than usual getting dahlias in the ground and they were obviously anxious to get out of storage! 55 dahlias are in and I have space for 66 so I may need to hit a tuber sale….😈

April is the month of change. In one day we can experience sun, hail, rain, wind, frost and thunder. And all things begin to grow. Looking forward to the day I can open the flower stand….

Happy Winter Solstice! Looking forward to warmer days, but appreciating the beautiful 22 degree snowy morning because it is better than the usual dreary gray days that are the norm in the PNW.

Hoping the chickens will eat the cucumber beetle eggs and get control of the problem before it gets out of hand.
