Loved this video of Steve Bargatze's son, Nate. I remember Steve talking about his son doing comedy, years ago and didn't think much about it. Little did I know that years later I would be driving around with half of his act memorized because I listened to it so much. I love this success story. One of the funniest men alive.

Comedian Nate Bargatze is having quite the year: He's bringing laughs across the country with his "Be Funny" tour, and this week he's a headline comic at the...

A magician was working on a cruise ship. The audience would be different each week, so the magician allowed himself to do the same tricks over and over again.

There was only one problem. The captain's parrot saw the shows each week and began to understand how the magician did his tricks. Once he understood he started shouting in the middle of the show how everything was done.

"Look, it's not the same hat.”

"Look, he is hiding the flowers under the table."

"Hey, why are all the cards the Ace of Spades ?"

The magician was furious but couldn't do anything about it. It was, after all, the captain's parrot.

One day the ship had a terrible accident and sank. The magician found himself floating on a piece of wood in the middle of the ocean with the parrot.

They stared at each other with hate, but did not utter a word. This went on for several days.

After a week the parrot said, "OK, I give up. Where's the ship?"

History of the Chicago Magician's Roundtable

The Chicago Magician's Roundtable is an informal organization of magicians and lovers of magic, which has been meeting daily since September 1920. It began when five Chicago magicians: Werner C. Domfield, Geonge Boston, John Platt, Paul Siegal, and Russ Walsh, gathered at a round table at De Lazon's Restaurant at 131 North Dearborn Street.

"Domy" suggested that they meet daily at 2:00 PM. Soon the word got out that this
was the place magicians could meet with their fellows any day of the week, except Sundays. The Roundtable became, and continues to be, a world headquarters for magicians. With the exception of a brief move to another location, the Roundtable has always set at the same place, which is known as Mayor's Row. The 108 individuals in this drawing are only a few of the many hundreds who over the years have enjoyed the fellowship of the Roundtable.
