There seems to be some confusion about 180Octane and this page that was brought to our attention by Karen in our townhome row that didn’t like us asking she not bring her dog to p**s in our owned property. While there was once a time BEFORE COVID where we had knocked around cooking for hire - we didn’t move forward. This isn’t a business, it’s a hobby. Most of the pictures you’re going to see here are food that we make for ourselves. And sometimes we make things for friends, family, neighbors or coworkers to help out with a gathering they might be having - because they’ve asked us to. Hence our “reviews”. Hope this clarifies any confusion as to what 180Octane is. Now, back to celebrating Kim’s birthday.

So, I dropped the ball yesterday on photos, but we had an amazing pulled pork that was injected with Japanese BBQ. We then smoked some coconut water “marinated” pineapple. Together, it was amazing and we got some great feedback! For me, it was even better this morning as a breakfast taco complete with melted cheese. Today, it’s just chicken thighs on the menu. One set injected and marinated with Pollo Asada and the other with a citrus marinade.

ON DECK for tomorrow!!! A 14 hour smoke time for 12 pounds of pulled pork, injected and basted with Japanese BBQ sauce!

This weekend we’re going to be trying our new sauces and enjoy the Labor Day weekend! On the menu:
Pulled Pork
Baby Back Ribs
Spareribs
Rib Tips
Skirt Steak (tacos!)
Chicken Thighs
Corn
Smoked Pineapple and multiple other sides including a Key Lime Pie.ďżź
Most will be with a Carolina Vinegar based sauce, but going to try a new injection recipe with the Chicken Thighs. This is our favorite BBQ weekend of the year! Anything good on your menus? Or are you a grazer with others cooking?
