The Dark Days are Over.
For those of you who do not know me yet, I am the short girl on image 2 with the pink pants. In honor of Opening Night , I wanted to dedicate this post to a place that I hold dear to my heart and that truly kicked off my passion for the events world, literally. Radio City Music Hall. My first job after college working in Rockettes Administration. A place that I will always call my home away from home — filled with special memories with VERY special people. 🎄 👯♀️
Working in events, and especially on an event like the Christmas Spectacular at one of the most Iconic venues in the world — full of so much history and a yearly tradition for most — gives a whole new meaning to the word. The beautiful worn out carpets full of music notes + instruments 🎷 🎶 , the walls + ceiling of the auditorium formed by a series of arches — each one larger than the next - creating a stylized representation of a sunrise 🌅 , two months of 200+ meals shared together from the same four caterers, holidays spent behind stage bumping into the girls as they line up for the Reindeer opening number day after day, many late night October rehearsals filled with Teresa’s pizza🍕 , B-Roll shoots, Rockettes Experience classes with groups of dancers from all over the world 🌍 , 7 Weeks of the Rockettes Summer Intensive Program, 400 girls auditioning per day for the chance to fill the 1-5 positions open + dancer auditions + orchestra auditions…, 12 months of Christmas Music 🎄 🎶 , and 30+ group tours per day peaking into your office window 🪟 🧒🏽 👦🏽 … the details of each experience will always remain ingrained in me, in the best way possible.
If I can create memorable moments at each event and memories/relationships with those involved in organizing the event only 1/4 as well as they do there, I will have done my job. ✨
After 673 days since the last show, I am happy to say, Happy Opening Day , break a leg!
P.s. if you want to book the Rockettes for a private performance in the comfort of your home, I most likely can set this up for you. However, it will cost you an arm and 40 long legs to do so. 🦵 🤪
