BUSINESS UPDATE
I am stepping away from Flowers and Design
and fiercely stepping forward towards photography!

It was a tough decision but the right one. As I continue to grow and evolve into a more sustainable business, I’ve found myself drawn back to my roots—photography. It’s where it all began for me.. in 2010!!

Combining design, photography, and florals has been such a rewarding journey, blending three things I deeply love. While I may revisit flowers and design in the future as I am absolutely infatuated with it, for now, I’m thrilled to dive headfirst into wedding photography with renewed focus and intention.

This journey has been a masterclass in growth, teaching me invaluable lessons that have shaped both my craft and business expertise. I'm excited to channel everything I’ve learned into this next chapter. ;)

Cheers to Calista and Jonathan!

Surrounded by friends and family, this wedding was truly filled with a lot of love and laughter—especially when they were getting iced out by their officiant! 🥂🌊

They held their beautifully intimate ceremony in their Airbnb's backyard, which I would too if I had a beach in my backyard! Especially if it's as stunning as the Corolla beaches are. Airbnb weddings are fantastic for family traveling in and wanting to celebrate together comfortably!

I believe we don’t understand the magnitude of this Hurricane and the destruction it left NC in. From people with boots on the ground, they are still pulling bodies out of water, communities are trapped, starving, and thirsty. We need to help!!!

They urgently need volunteers with a construction background to help rebuild!!

Huge congrats to Henry and McKenzie as they embark on their forever together at the Raleigh Courthouse.

My camera absolutely loved these two as we pranced around downtown Raleigh for some trendy photos after making things official in the courthouse. Their close family members were able to join which was the best part!

But hold up… no one told me the Raleigh Courthouse was so gorgeous!? There’s marble walls, all-white hallways, large elevators, a photographer's and bride’s dream! It’s called the Wake County Justice Center, walk-ins welcome!

Capturing their love was effortless. 💕 The ceremony took place on the front lawn, followed by a tented wedding reception in the backyard. The bridesmaids rocked beautiful moonflower bouquets, totally on-trend!

We worked closely with the bride to perfect every detail. Held at the historic Governor’s Mansion in Columbus, WI, just 40 mins from Madison, this stunning BNB offers a picturesque backdrop for tented weddings.

This elopement beautifully blended the vibrant downtown Madison atmosphere with escaping off into intimacy at Olbrich botanical gardens.
Christina and Cory's choice to stay at the Madison Concourse Hotel for their wedding date was a natural one—they always find comfort there when they visit town, making it the perfect setting for capturing photos against the backdrop of its beautiful architecture. Check out that view of the Capitol!

Rarely do you find yourself thankful for rain on a wedding day, but on this occasion, we were grateful. The gardens kindly permitted us to hold the ceremony inside their lush tropical Conservatory. Christina's sentimental attachment to sunflowers prompted her to include them in her bouquet—they were the first type of flowers Cory ever gave her!

Congratulations to Ashlee and Lance on their special day!

The ceremony took place at Cambium Barn, where they exchanged vows beneath a beautiful floral arch. Everywhere you turned, there was beauty to behold: from the radiant couple themselves to the vibrant purples and blues that adorned the floral arrangements and full bouquet.

Adding to the enchantment of the evening was a vintage photo booth, which provided guests with a delightful way to capture more memories of the celebration. As the night progressed, everyone danced away, surely making the night one to remember.

Maggie and Noah's wedding at the Fayetteville Botanical Gardens was a Monday to remember!

Maggie had a crystal-clear vision for her wedding right from the beginning. From her floral arrangements to the lavender and sage tablescape, she meticulously designed every detail! Her bouquet featured an all-white cascading orchid arrangement, complemented by purple orchids adorning the tables.

Congratulations to the newlyweds, Carissa and Kyle! Their special day was even more memorable with their son tagging along. The celebration began by the historic courthouse with a touching first look between the son and the bride, followed by the bride and groom.

The ceremony took place at the detention center in Fayetteville. Upon waiting in the lobby a for a mere 15 minutes, there were 3 different parties there to get married!! I couldn’t believe it!

The clerk was very kind and allowed them to have the ceremony outside. Afterward, we wandered around downtown, capturing photos to commemorate the beautiful occasion.

There’s a love hate relationship when it comes to artificial intelligence in the wedding industry. Especially with professional photography, event design, and flowers!

AI is often my sidekick and comes in handy when I have to remove a sign in the background or fix someone's wispy hair. I’ve even used it to straighten chairs in a photo or remove a rug! It’s astonishing what AI can do!
However, it does raise questions about authenticity. It’s said to give customers and viewers a false sense of what’s possible. Especially when it comes to wedding design and flower installations. Artist talk about how it’s a lazy way to create content. Sometimes when I scroll, I can’t tell the difference anymore!

I created these bamboo floral stands as a ceremony setup. Yes, I sawed these down in my backyard and acquired Poison Oak that I dealt with for 3 weeks. :D To showcase these bamboo stands I was originally thinking of using AI to add flower pieces. In real life this took 6 hours of work and lots of problem solving to add the flower pieces. I am sure I could have created this with AI, probably something even more exuberant and lush but AI will never replace the learning opportunity and having the overly confident answer of “YES, I can create that!!”

A modern twist on the Fayetteville courthouse elopement: They began with the official ceremony, then explored downtown Fayetteville and its historic buildings, including The Hub Fayetteville for photos. It's always so heartwarming to hear about other love stories throughout military.

Joyceanne wanted an all-white dried floral bouquet (so she could keep it forever) with pops of soft blue! Making this bouquet reminded me why I love being a florist! I couldn’t help myself but to add some fresh white tulips.

Could I ask for a better couple, villa, weather, HMU??.. NOPE!! Every detail came together impeccably 👌🤙👌

We did the photography and florals for this ravishing couple on what felt like the highest post on the island, an AirBNB called World's Best Vision! Yes, this AirBNB is open for weddings and events!!

What a perfect little spot for an intimate event as it served as a place to get ready, have the ceremony, dinner afterward, and as you can see from the photos, even the neighborhood is full of photo opportunities as we walked around and explored the nearby jungles.

We embarked on a love-filled adventure in Ang Thong National Park with Brendalyn + Carlos! This national marine park is accessible by speed boat or a full-day excursion from Koh Samui, Thailand. Brendi and Carlos were adventurous enough to set sail on the full day excursion that included kayaking, hiking, island hoping, and even a Thai lunch!
