I'm behind on posting, so I'll start here and move backwards. My Funky Friends with The Getaway have a new record out! They came out last year and we all crammed in the control room to record the basic tracks. then completed the overdubs and Mixed/Mastered at his place. Record sounds great! open, lush, even through a mix of styles and genres. Unique melting pot of good vibes, epic climaxes, and altogether funky grooves. Congrats for getting it out there. ✌️

Eventful Weekend Part 3-My cousin came out and took the girls and I ice/rock climbing and Granddad Bluffs. Incredible first experience for the girls to experience such a unique sport. They crushed it! Courtney is a badass for introducing our kids to awesome new experiences. Life is good

Eventful weekend Part 1-Had the opportunity to run production to celebrate Hip Hop and Black History Month with my good friend in Baltimore. Great show and I was deeply educated on the origin and history of Hip Hop from Word and .gram at the hip hop after party. Big thanks for the invite to come be a part of the celebration.

There's a hill above our valley, and I've made a routine of climbing it in the mornings. To find calm, to bring inspiration, to mellow out a caffeine buzz . It prepares me to sit at a desk and focus intensely on projects. With the air warming, and spring on the rise, I suspect I will be taking more breaks to enjoy this fantastic view. Looking forward to sharing it with future friends.

10 years, dozens of flights, 10's of thousands of miles and my gig bag finally received its first blemish. The badge is half peeled off from catching on the overhead bin... I basically carry a studio in this thing everywhere I go. It is an essential travel tool and makes them virtually bullet proof. Here's to another 10 years of moving through the world. Thank you for making such durable equipment . You're the best. 🍻

Drum Time! Pretty excited to have my buddy come play for an experimentation session. I want to get to know the room more, so we're going to geek out and get all sorts of things dialed in. Will also double as preproduction for some projects I'll be playing on. I'll send some samples as we dive in!

Going through photos the other day and found the picture of the barn loft from right when we purchased the farm. 2 years ago I walked into the barn and felt a rush of energy and saw a potential for a studio. A blank canvas, frozen in time, framed in 100 year old timber. I've repurposed old boards from other buildings on the property, cleaned up metal stashed in various lofts and nooks. I tend not to worry about how long or how much energy projects are going to take. When spirit takes me, I try to abide and just go. I've built and finished every part of this studio, and in a way it feels like a living record. It's crooked in places, rarely level, hardly square, but it has an energy and I'm very much looking forward to sharing the space. I'm growing and learning, and the studio will improve with time as I will. For now, let's make some records. The space is ready to receive musical musings.

These floor boards were originally installed in the barn sometime around the 1930's-1940's...they have been covered by countless bails of hay, dust, and dirt for decades...a light sanding to reveal the natural wood grain and a coat of polyurethane outpours a raw beauty that inspires the hell out of me. I feel like we often look to newness for beauty...but often hidden in the mundane, uninteresting standardness of our foundation, exists a timeless radiance...
