WNC is hurtin... BAD.... but damn... y'all gotta stop believeing everything you read on Facebook.

We aint bulldozing bodies where they lay.... no entity is stealing donations... volunteers have not (yet) been run off until trained by the United Way... the list certainly goes on.

I find this to be so true.... of course, this image doesn't include the negative side of it if you walk around every day being a jerk...

But, I am sharing it because it was extremely timely as I was JUST talking about this very thing from over 30 years ago with a brother of mine.

I am CONSTANTLY amazed when I learn I made a difference, an impact or simply made someone smile at a time when they really needed one.

The Ultimate Basement folks!

Some of you may remember back in December 2010....

The UB was about to go under....

When suddenly, we received a Christmas Miracle!

My buddy/UB supporter Joe Lattimore opened a Reddit thread about us and MAN was I blown away by the response of total strangers!

I posted "The MOST amazing thing is happening RIGHT NOW at reddit.com!! Folks around the GLOBE have been donating to save The UB!!! I am humbled beyond belief!! Over $300 so far!! PLUS a complete Rockband 2 for the Wii is being sent here from NY!!! It is all mind-numbing!!
PLUS I would be remiss if I didn't mention the entire band Sleeping In Reverse is also donating!!"

AND...

"SPECIAL THANKS go out to Black Sun Productions ( http://blacksunpro.com ) in California!!! A surprise donation of close to 50 Tony Hawk games, three Tony Hawk wireless skate boards (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360) plus!!

Now.... 14 yrs later.... Joe needs us.

I've never known him to ask for ANYTHING in all these years.

He never once TOOK... only ever GAVE.
