Helping Women Succeed Through Training in Food Service
New Leaf Bakery Cafe is a unique job training program that blends education, hands-on work experience, and supportive services designed to help women gain the self-confidence and professional skills necessary for self-sufficiency. Hands-on training is offered in a fast-paced commercial kitchen providing catering services, with separate barista training at our full service cafe. In 2017, 80% of our kitchen trainees went on to school or employment. Participants also work with our Vocational Specialist to help them create a resume, practice interview skills, and become prepared for entering a professional work environment. In 2017, 43 women accessed one-on-one job-readiness training.
