I can take zero credit for this delicious lunch of rock fish, red cabbage slaw and pickled hungarian wax peppers and leeks. The crema was amazing and the rose wine finished the deal! Vince Assetta makes great beer (Straub Brewery just won another award) and he's a damn good cook too!

Just another lunch on Egg HIll...
This local, local, local lunch brought to you by Straub Brewery, (I love the Vienna with a burger) Stone Meadow Farms (nothing like Woodward made Swiss cheese), Tom Stake - the grassfed beef is truly the best I've ever tasted, the Lynch/Assetta garden (arugula) and my dearly beloved chickens - may they rest in peace.

I forgot to mention those eggs rested on top of our Grange Fair piggy in the form of a ham steak..Delicious bite!

Poached eggs are a challenge...it was fun to experiment with water temperatures, cooking times, etc. The end result was a lovely breakfast where the wilted spinach balanced the richness of the Bearnaise sauce on the eggs. (I know, it's not a Hollandaise - but the Bearnaise was left over from the night before)

Sunday Supper at the Assetta's...might be the tastiest bite we've ever made! This is a local duck breast, sliced atop smashed sweet potatoes with a classic french sauce made with green peppercorns, shallots and cream. Just amazing!
