I don't get to do photography in the same capacity that I used to or have a thriving business, but I do get to show up for my beautiful daughters and document their victories on the field. For this, I am blessed.

Happy back to school day! Just a reminder to everyone, as I am still recovering from multiple back surgeries and issues over the past few years, I am still not back to taking clients. I hope that someday I will be, however, for now I am just enjoying documenting my beautiful family. I hope everyone has had a wonderful week with school starting!

2019 was a crazy year for me. It’s brought a lot of tears, but it’s ended up being a beautiful end of the year. I’m grateful for my beautiful children who are my everything, my incredible family and amazing friends who have been there for me no matter what. I’m so blessed!

I’ve been a bit MIA on social media for a while and it has been super refreshing! I’m still doing shoots often but have just been too busy to update! I started a new job working at an animal shelter and it is so fulfilling. My life is so amazing and happy right now and I couldn’t possibly love these four littles more than I do- pretty sure my heart may explode already!

I made some of the most incredible forever friends from my time living on Camp Pendleton. Kali is one of the best people I know. 13 years felt like nothing the minute she showed up on my doorstep- her girls just aren't little babies anymore! It was so much fun to catch up and be able to document their beautiful family as they make their way to the next duty station!

I hope everyone had a good 4th of July! I'm now sunburnt beyond belief but we had so much fun at Bear Lake with our cousins just playing on the beach and in the water! Fun in the sun for the win! Also, Wyoming has hilariously named and really fun fireworks!

To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow- Maya Angelou

This spring I have had some opportunities that have humbled me and brought me to my knees. A dear mother I knew was having twins. She found out they were boy/girl twins (which is awesome when you have 3 boys at home) but it was discovered that the sweet little girl had brittle bone disease and her lungs weren’t getting support they needed to grow like they should. Not the news any parent should ever have to hear a doctor say. I offered photos to her, any and all that she needed. Luckily she took me up on my offer for maternity photos. This beautiful woman decided to wear her temple dress (we are both from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or "mormon"). It was sentimental and incredible to see how gracefully she was navigating this rough terrain. She is a gorgeous and happy mother!

Time went on and she had the baby suddenly without time to call. She invited me to the memorial a week later and I decided to take my camera but leave it in the car in case they did not want anything documented. I am grateful I had it because what happened was amazing. As we entered I heard her sobbing to a family member that she never once got to hold both of her babies together or have all of her family in one room since baby boy had been born first and whisked away to the nicu. Baby girl lived for 30 minutes and her other three older brothers and mom and dad got to spend all of those precious moments with her. Hearing this tore me up inside. I had to leave the room and go outside. On a whim, I called a woman in my neighborhood who happened to work at the nicu where baby boy was at. She managed to pull some strings for me, and got them to allow us to bring baby girl back with her family from the mortuary to get some family photos done. What an incredible blessing (neighbors are answers to prayers we never knew we would ask.) These photos brought me to my knees. I have been so blessed to be able to capture these images. They are the most important and beautiful images I have ever created in my entire life. To watch this mother go from devastated and sobbing to absolutely radiantly happy holding both of her babies was beyond words.

I recently got to snuggle baby boy Oliver once he made it home from nicu and it was a dream come true. He has such a beautiful personality and smiles anytime you mention his angel baby sister, Elizabeth. We tried to incorporate Elizabeth in any way we could.

Capture those moments. Whether your hair is perfect or you are happy. Every moment in your life matters to those around you. You are amazing. Capture all of it. Document your life for your kids and grandkids. It is worth everything in the world to have images of those special moments. Don't wait to lose the weight, don't wait until your hair is the length you want it. You never know how much time you have with those you love the most. Treasure it. Drink it all in. Enjoy every second and hug your kids a little tighter.

I am humbled by the gravity and reverence of these moments that have forever changed my life.

Happy Monday! I for one, am super glad that last week is over. Last week was so chaotic with appointments, a party, editing, and getting the house cleaned as well as being sick on top of it all. So guys. This is a funny and real post. My youngest son is obsessed with The Good Dinosaur. He loves it. He laughs through 90% of it. But there are two scenes that upset him and make him panic. The first (this video) is the part where Arlo catches Spot (the caveman child) in the trap and Spot jumps out at Arlo. It's hilarious. He just shakes while he makes this face. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Then two seconds later he's back to giggling. The next part that makes him cry is when Arlo is swept away by the water and separated from his parents.
