This was a special wedding for me because the groom's mother was my mentor teacher when I started my teaching career 13 years ago, and we spent over 10 great years working together at Columbia High School! She is now enjoying a well deserved retirement!
Chris and I also have a special connection - we had the same Cardiologist at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis ever since we were babies. I'm so happy to see Chris doing well and thriving, and what a great groom he made - even though Kayla still outshined his Jake Gyllenhaal looks (that will make sense when the video comes out!)

Grateful.....this is the word that comes to mind thinking about yesterday's wedding of Kelsey and Andrew.
Grateful for the beautiful (albeit a little hot) day, grateful for the people I got to hang out with for the day, but mostly, grateful for being able to tell Kelsey and Andrew's incredible love story. It was a day full of fun, love, remembrance, gratefulness, joy, hope - every emotion you could think of. The whole day was planned beautifully by all involved, and will be a day that sticks with me for a long, long time.
I absolutely can't wait to put this story together and share it.
