In 1982, Bill and Cheryl Kunderman opened Custard’s 1st Stand for business. It was their dream as a family to own and operate a small family business in the very community where they would raise their children. Bill and Cheryl built their business on the values and principles that they began to raise their family with. They understood that in order to be successful, they needed to be involved in t
he community, and that’s just what they did. Custard’s 1st Stand sponsored many children’s sports teams, donated treats for local school events, and donated treats and coupons for local church events as well. The generous outpouring of support that the Kundermans always provided the community of Oakville was returned to them tenfold after Cheryl’s passing. Bill sold the Custard Stand a few years later after their children were grown. Even though the building itself has and always will be an icon on Telegraph Rd. the business itself would never be the same. Until now… Bill and Cheryl’s 3 children William, Mike, and Annie along with their spouses have since acquired Custard’s 1st Stand and have reopened and will continue to run this local family owned and operated business on the same values and principles that their parents did 30 years ago. They have since expanded their business to include private party and special event catering, including soft serve machine rentals. We look forward to getting to know the next generation in this community, as well as reconnecting with the loyal customers who have always been here! We thank you in advance for your continued support, and we look forward to sharing our growing family with yours!! We have recently closed our stand on Telegraph Rd, but continue on with all of our other operations!
